You have to turn off water ....remove cartridge and use heat proof plumbers grease on all inner and outer parts of value and cartridge and body...do not be shy with grease...this should make it better than new...if not buy a new cartridge then grease all...try first to see if works..

SOURCE: Moen shower/tub faucet

hi... yes that's a very common issue with moen "cartridges" -- it's very simple to fix..... grasp the handle and give it a gentle tug upwards when the water is on... if it retracts again, pull the handle out again and tug again but this time a bit harder. Not sure what causes this on new cartridges but it will fix your issue.

All hooked up dobble cked but water only trickles so ample supply

Make sure the hot water is turned back on. Pressure balancing valves won't work if both cold and hot water is not on. Pull shower head off and test to see how it flows out of the shower arm. If good, clear out shower head. Whenever water is turned off for a time, and then turned back on, restricting shower heads and aerators usually get clogged. In the future, always open up a tub spout before turning water back on. This releases the air and other debris most effectively before testing other fixtures in the house.

On new Moen shower faucet, when I turn on faucet, water drips from shower also.

The faucet was installed upside down.
The shower riser pipe in the wall is to short( the distance between the faucet and shower head).
One of the biggest problems is if your shower faucet was installed with Pex pipe to the tub spout. Pex pipe will restrict the flow and force the water back up and out of the shower head.
The tub spout must be piped with at least 1/2 brass pipe nipples and fittings, or 5/8 OD. copper pipe and fittings.
Hope this helps, if you further questions please let us know.

Moen shower valves are failing

the diverter is stuck. you have to move it up and down to free it up. the diverter is the mechanism attached to the tub spout that switches the water from shower to tub. you may also need a new diverter if fiddling with it doesn't work.

Low pressure in the shower

if the regular tub faucet has normal pressure, then carefully remove the shower head and soak it in de-limer and rinse in clear water before using again

I can not consistently get the water to just come out of the shower and not the tub faucet also, at the same time.

you need a new tub spout, the o ring goes bad and allows it to come from both at the same time, they are a pain in the **** to get out so i would just replace it , some screw off and some have an allen screw on the bottom of it close to the wall that you loosen up and it will slide off

Installed a new oak brook collection tub and shower faucet and no water comes out.

You may have to disassymble the faucet to see if there is something that is stuck in there or that the assymbly internally is stuck in the closed position.
