Hello. I have a problem with an COMPAQ R3000h USP. When it is plugged in to the electricity it turns itself off after a few seconds after manual switching on and than turns itself on again for a couple of seconds. When it works on battery it works just fine. What may be the cause of such a malfunction? Thank you very much in advance for any help you can give me.

SOURCE: less then 5 minutes runtime at minimal load

You gave no reasons why you thought it was simply a software setting, so I gave you a link below for some management software. The HP R3000 UPS supports HP Power Management Software (CPM) version 1.8. http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/proliantstorage/power-protection/software/legacy-software.html In addition the HP R3000 UPS also supports the LanSafe III management software (discontinued). My first question is: When were the batteries last changed? If they haven't been changed in 3 or so years, then it's probably low batteries, meaning they are old and cannot take a charge anymore. Check to see that all your timing marks are still in line at TDC No1 cylinder, compression stroke.. Sounds like the engine is trying to push against itself.

My heater turns off and on all by itself, it does not matter if it is turned on or not. if it is off, it will turn on and run for a few seconds then shut off for a few seconds and continue. same if it is...

Call the manufacturer - this is a major defect and could cause a fire. They will probably UPS you a new heater if it is still under warranty. I would cut the cord off and mail it to them with a description of the problem. Do not leave it plugged-in - this is dangerous.
