Look at your menu. see if you can find a perfect focus option. if so press it.. also try to reset to factory settings. there should be a option on the menu to do this under the option where you change the brighteness, focus and such..

Some capacitors must have bulged in the mainboard and not supporting the board to give proper convergence so it is again and again coming after some days.so get it checked and repaired for permanent solution.it will not be too costly.

By reading your comments it sounds like they just either reset to factory defaults or they didnt want to fix the problem and they just adjusted the tint/colorlevels try adjusting via the color or the picture temp. setting (usually found under picture) if the problem has been getting worse then they were covering it up by adjusting the tv to look normal even though the problem was getting worse

Whenin your on screen display Go to the Color Temperature- There are 3 different settings:
-Set to high for less intense colors with more blue.
-Set To medium For Natural Colors
-Set for Standard for more standard colors or black.white or a more reddish color.

Hopefully this helps you and it is not somethimg more severe.

Setting color and the on screen controls have a wide range for setting color balance. If adjusting them does not work there is something wrong with the controller functionl. Be sure and do a hard reset in case of some software corruption; merely remove the power cord from house power for 2 hours; then power up again. If color controls still don't work, try the service menu, but probably the contorller IC may need looked at.
Thanks for using Fixya

You can try getting into the service menu where you can get stronger control over the colors, but this model is quite new and it may need a service tech to connect to the service jack on the back panel to get control.

    Dear Sir/madam,

One possible, but tricky option is to remove the speaker grill and front access panel and turn back the red trimpot a very small amount (there are 6 pots - 3 for focus, 3 for each CRT). These trimpots are extremely
sensitive and if you screw up by adjusting too much, you may never get
proper greyscale again without a professional calibration...so be very
careful with this coarse adjustment of the red CRT.

    Thanks
    Good luck

If you need to get into service mode to reset to factory, you can download the service manual for your TV by clicking here, you will need to download all the 14 parts and use winrar to unzip them and have acrobat reader to open the pdf file. Once you open the pdf file go to page # 49.

I would suggest to write down what you see there before making any adjustments.

Use the info from the service manual at your own risk.

    Good Luck.

This is the problem with convergence IC in the TV you may need service manual to guide ...
If you would like to attempt a DIY, you will need a service manual to guide you. You can find one here:
http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/

However, be aware that there are voltages inside your TV set that can kill, even if unplugged.

Good luck....

Red and blue tint

Often "grayscale" is achieved by mixing some of your colors (CYM) to form composite black and gray - not necessarily just black from your black cartridge. Often there is some yellow used beneath the black -- so if you are getting a red or blue tint, it could mean something as simple as being low on yellow ink.

My tv has a red tint to it not sure what to do?

Projection tubes have a liquid coolant that is used to keep them from overheating. After many years the coolant in the blue and green tubes will become cloudy and cause the screen to look dull, red/orange, etc. You may even see halos around video.

Pic of a set that needs the fluid changed. Notice how dull the colors are and how white the screen looks. The screen may also look red, orange, dull, etc.

BEFORE

Set after fluid change. Notice how bright the colors are now. Everthing looks crisp and sharp again.

AFTER

724bcba.pngSolution #2 - CRT FLUID FIX

What you will need to do is replace the coolant and clean the crt. You can get a repair kit from TvRepairKits.com . It includes replacement coolant, step by step instructions, support, etc.

My kids changed the color on my 61 inch RCA and now i cant get it back to normal. Everything thats suppose to be purple is brown and pinks are orange and yellows are pale. Everything else is ok a little...

Someone probably played around with the "Tint" settings in the TV menu. The easiest way to fix it is to go into the TV picture menu and reset everything to the default settings. There's probably one option for "Reset to Factory Default" or something along those lines. Since every TV is different with this, you should read your owner's manual to find how to enter the menu and find the reset button.

Images on screen are very red. Tried adjusting everything in the menu but still every thing is like glowing red.

Color balance is labeled "Tint"
Color amount is labeled "Color"

Both are in the "picture" adjustments menu.

Either your tint is swung too far to red, or the color setting is wide open making normally pink faces look sunburned...likely it's a combination of the two; Too much red, and a bit too much color.

Going back to the "default factory setting" in "setup" will also drop all settings to center.
