The magnetron in the microwave has failed, "heats food" and some cases gives off an odor that stands out. To repair the oven will approach the price of a new one
i hear ya but it sounds like you need to send it back its so new you could get a new one just like it wait a week and return the old ,if you dont have a warranty or receipt for the other dont get cheated
Please share this details only with your family(friends can leak the news leading to bad reputation for you) , but you can warn your brother in law in advance to correct him in his ways as your sister's life is your hands.
So if there is no damage done , talk to him and tell him to have a good life and behave humanly becoming morally responsible, not to cheat on his wife.
Mommakat45 You can find the manual at http://shared.whirlpoolcorp.com/product_literature/search_results.jsp?searchTerm=KEMS376TWH1&siteCd=KAD&userType=Consumer
Howdy, when you have a situation where all the specs are not well defined, it is a fair cheat to use 1/2 to 3/4 inch plywood as a backer, covering the largest possible dimention of the installed machine. I have simply cut it to fit the stud spaces and make sure my wires and pipes are all clear. Kitchen is the best room in the house, I think. Good job making sure you have your bases covered.

I ended up replacing it with a whirlpool one. It is not a good microwave and I have decided that until GE gets their act together and stop cheating people with planned obsolesce, I will not buy their products.
