Refresh database error

My sandisk E260 starts up and shows refresh database for 6 secs. It then shuts down and starts up again and does the same thing. The computer can not recognise the device.

Used the Firmware Updater to get the latest firmware and this updated my Sansa E260 player which was in Recovery mode. The player then completed the refresh database process. No data was lost. The player is now functiining correctly.]

When you say the screen goes black even after disconnecting the device from computer it could be an issue with the firmware.
It might need to have updated firmware. To get the updated firmware please go www.sandisk.com.

Where you can get the latest firmware for your model.
*** Make sure when you update the firmware keep the device in MSC mode.
