I have been a MSN member with hotmail for years. Now I get information that I can't get in without changing my email address and password. I am willing to change password but it would be a big mess if my contacts could not use my email address anymore. What do I do? You cannot send an answer to my email address because they won't let me in. Please use my other email address: [email protected]

  • heberling Jul 27, 2008

    I thought of this but I hate to change my address.
    I guess this is the best answer.

    How long does my $9.99 that you asked for last? Is it just for this one question or do I have this help whenever I need it? If so is there a time limit on it (like 1 or 2 years)?

    Thank you. [email protected]

I have forgotten my email address how do I find it

Important information can sometimes be sent to an old email address that you no longer use.

For instance, if you registered a domain name, a website hosting account, a PayPal, or eBay account with an old email address but forgot to update your account when you switched email providers, then messages sent by those sites will be overlooked.

Finding old email accounts is not that difficult, especially because email users tend to use the same user name, or variations of it, for all email accounts.

If you know, or have an idea of what the old user name was, then retrieving, or changing the password is simple, but each email server uses a different user name or password retrieval method.

Call your internet provider and tell them you have forgotten your email account.

Give them your name and account number, found on your monthly statement.
In some cases the Internet provider will want to email this information to you.

Be sure they send the information to the alternate email address which you can access.
You don't want them to send messages to the email address you can't currently access.

The internet provider will ask you the security question you selected when signing up for the account.

If you can't remember what you selected, then the customer service representative may ask for a user name, your address, or the telephone number under which you registered the account.

Reset the password with the customer service representative over the phone.
The representative will help you change the user name if needed and reset the password so you can access the account again.
Yahoo Email

Go to the Yahoo mail page which asks you for your Yahoo ID.

Click on "I can't access my account."

Make the appropriate selection from the choices.
If you choose "I can't remember my user ID" then Yahoo will have you answer the "secret questions" they asked when you signed up.

These questions will be something like: "What was your first car?" or "Who was your third grade teacher?" If you answer coincides with the answer you gave when you signed up for the account.

Yahoo will give you your user ID.

After recovering your user ID, click on "I can't access my account" again and select "I can't remember my password," then click next and you will be taken to a change password screen, where you can change your password.

Start using your old Yahoo email account.
MSN Hotmail Email

Go to the Hotmail, or the MSN ID page, where it asks for your user name and password
Enter your user ID.

Unfortunately, MSN requires you to remember the user ID.

Click on "I have forgotten password"

Choose whether you want your password mailed to you or changed.
Unless you have registered a secondary email, if you choose email then the password will be sent to the account you can't access.

If you want to change password then you will be asked the security questions you specified when you registered the account.

Questions are something similar to, "Mothers birth place?" You may also be asked for your zip code, or address.

Enter a new password.

Enter anew password when the MSN ID page loads again and access your old email account.
Gmail Email

Access the Gmail ID page and click on "I can't access my account."

Choose the appropriate selection from the page that loads.
Options include, "I have forgotten my password" and "I have forgotten my user name."

If you select "I forgot user name," then click on "retrieve user name page," which you will see further down on the page.

Enter the alternate e-mail with which you registered the account.
The user name will be sent to that email.

Select "I have forgotten my password" If you know your user name then choose and click on "retrieve password" page.

Enter your user name on the page that comes up and then answer the confidential question that is asked.

Send password reset instructions to an alternate email and access your old Gmail email account.

How do i set up an email account

MSN boasts its free email service, Hotmail, as the "efficient way to do e-mail."
Indeed, MSN offers several perks such as advanced security protection, email accessibility with your cell phone and one-stop inboxing, or the ability to bring all your email addresses together.
Once you complete the process of setting up an account with MSN, you'll be able to use your new Hotmail email address.

Open up your Internet browser to the MSN "Create your email address" page.
Select the country or region of the world you live in.

Choose the name you would like to appear before the "@hotmail.com" part of the address. Besides letter and numbers, you can also use hyphens, periods and underscores to personalize your email address.
Press "Check Availability" when you have typed in your desired name to make sure it is not already claimed.

Create a password for your account; your password must have six or more characters.
You'll be prompted to type in your desired password twice.
To protect yourself from identity theft and fraud, you should create a strong password for your email account.

Select a security question from the pull-down menu and provide the answer to the question.
In case you forget your password, you'll be able to retrieve that information upon giving the correct answer.
Or, provide another email address that you use; MSN will send your forgotten password to that email address.

Provide your personal information such as your name, birth date, gender, state, zip code and the time zone you live in.
Enter the characters you see on your screen for verification purposes.
Read through Microsoft's service agreement and online privacy statement and click "Accept" when you are done.
Navigate to the "Sign In" page for Hotmail.
Type your user name ([email protected]) and password in the appropriate spaces; click "Sign In."
Now you are ready to use your MSN email address.

I can't get into my hotmail acct. My ID is correct and so is my password,but it keeps saying my password is incorrect. I've had this acct for years. Please,help it's [email protected]

If you put in your information on an untrustworthy site, your email may have been hacked. You can try clicking "forgot your password?" or "Forgot Password" and request to enter a new one. Also, make sure Caps Lock is off when you enter it.

To reset your Facebook password, please click "Lost password?" - it's located right below the text field where you usually fill in your password. Facebook will then offer you several methods for reclaiming your account.

E-mail address,password

I assume you have "Windows Live Messenger" already installed on you computer, and that you have an account already set up.

WLM uses the same information as your Hotmail account.  The user name for WLM is your Hotmail address; and the password for WLM is your Hotmail password.

If you've previously accessed WLM from that computer, then the user name (email address) and password are likely stored in the system.  You should be able to retrieve that information by using either of the following free software programs:
* MessenPass - see http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/mspass.html
* MSNLivePasswordDecryptor - see http://www.securityxploded.com/msn-password-decryptor.php

If you know the email address, but have forgotten the password for your WLM/Hotmail account, you can retrieve or reset it online:
https://login.live.com/
Click on "Forgot your password", then follow the instructions.

If you think someone has changed your evil caring passwords or you do not remember your answer to the secret question, write to [email protected] and follow this procedure:
Here is the standard procedure for submitting your application:

You explain your problem in detail and then:

If you think an unauthorized person has accessed your account and changed your password, secret question and your response or information from your profile, please provide the requested information.

* Name
* Username (Account problematic)
* Date of birth (day / month / year)
* Country / region
* State / Dept / Prov.
* Postal Code
* Approximate date of your last login
* Approximate date of account opening
* List of all old passwords you used with this account and that! remember
* List all of your files that you remember
* Name of your ISP. If you access your account from a non-personal computer (for example, from a school or workplace), indicate the name of the corresponding organization.

Once this information reaches us, we can reset your password and send it via email to the address from which you sent us your request.

Hotmail can easily know who logs into this account and now back up its warning to ISPs where the latter, closing the access ...

"If you have not already, you should add another email address (if you have one) to your Hotmail profile. So you can use the reset password email to reset your Hotmail password.

Getting my msn messeger password back

Passwords seem to be a hot topic among MSN Hotmail users. Apparently people lose them frequently, because I get a lot of questions relating to password loss and theft.
If you've simply forgotten your password, MSN Hotmail does provide at least one level of back-door that you can use to recover it - your alternate email address or secret question. If you don't have those, you're probably out of luck.
Here's the approach to take when you've lost your password....

If your sign in to Hotmail fails, notice that there's a link immediately below the password field:
hotmail-passport-forgot.jpg Click on that, and you'll be taken the "match the picture" question:
hotmail-match.jpg This dialog exists solely to prove that you are human ... current technology makes it extremely difficult for computer to examine that picture and understand the letters that are displayed within it. It's not always that easy for humans either! But the point is to prevent computer programs from being written which can try to guess passwords in some high-speed automated fashion ... you have to prove you're human first.
Assuming you are human, you're then given two options:
hotmail-reset2.jpg If you've configured Hotmail with an alternate email address, as I strongly recommend you do, you can have Hotmail email you at the alternate address a special message with a link that will then allow you to select a new Hotmail password.
Since most people having problems are using Hotmail as their only email address (another practice I strongly discourage), we'll go the other route and click on "Provide account information and answer your secret question." (If you don't know the answer to your secret question, see the related articles below.)
You'll then see this screen:
hotmail-secret.jpg Enter the requested information exactly as you answered it when you set up the account. Assuming you get it correct, you'll then be taken to the Create a Password screen:
hotmail-password-create.jpg Once your password has been changed, if you do not have an alternate email address, Hotmail will prompt you to optionally create one:
hotmail-alternate.jpg And you're done!
