SOURCE: The washer is consistently off balance during the
Usually over a period of use the washer tends to get out of balance, and then make more noise when it get to the spin cycle. I would suggest leveling the washer and then trying it out. The best way to fix this issue is by getting yourself a water level, u can get it in any hardware store. I personally would recommend a small circular water level for this job. Place the water level on top of the washer; make sure it is in the center. Take a look at the level and see where the bubble is in the water level? Accordingly you have to lower or raise either 4 corners of the washer to bring the bubble in the water level to the center. Now you have to be very gentle and small increments when rising or lower the corners of the washer, it does not take too much to move the bubble in the center.
If the problem continues then you have to open the top cover in your case since its a top load the back cover and check inside if any of the weights are out of place. 9 out of 10 the washer needs to be leveled.

SOURCE: washer sounds like off balance during spin
old duets have nut on rear pulley that becomes loose. remove rear panel and tighten nut. check while spinning by hand if pop is felt. if it rotates smoothly then you may need new shocks on tub

I have the same problem with a Maytag Brovos MTW6600TQ0 unit. Took it apart and found that the bearing had gone out on the drive shaft in the outer tub. Only solution is to replace the outer tub at about $200. For some reason, Whirlpool/Maytag have combined the drive shaft and bearing as part of the outer tub - so instead of paying less that $25 for the bearing you are stuch with a $200 repair.
