SOURCE: movie freezes, skips.

Does sound like the laser. Realitically, not worth repairing. I'd say you'd be worth connecting a cheap DVD player to the system - then the Sony can carry on providing the surround sound audio and the new DVD player can provide the video. Then, if the cheap DVD player is still going, it can move to a bedroom TV if and when you replace the surround system....

Otherwise, I would imaging the speaker set (and even the non-working DVD player) on its own might fetch a reasonable price on an auction site - anyone who has a stolen DVD unit will probably be desparate for the speakers as Sony don't sell them separately!

Sounds like your TV's sound output isn't working. Check all the connections and if that doesn't do it, try hooking up some other sound system to the TV to check that it is working properly.

SOURCE: CAN I USE HDMI CABLE

Yes. This is what you should do. Connect the Bluray players HDMI cable directly to your TV, then use an optical cable (usually around $20-40) to go from the Bluray player to the surround system. You will then need to enter the menu of the Bluray player and set up the Audio to be run through the Optical output instead of the HDMI. Problem solved!

When I plug my flash drive into Sony DAV-DZ810 theater system, I always get only the sounds of the movie without the video. Does anyone know why?

The media player needs the right CODEC to play those files. You should be able to download the CODEC's for them. Unless the unit can not play certain files. But you might be able to get around this by converting those files it can't play to those it can.

MY SONY HBD-DZ810 HOME THEATER IS CONSTANTLY SHOWING PUSH POWER PROTECTOR

The "PROTECT" and "PUSH POWER" messages will flash alternately when the protective device of the amplifier has been activated because a strong signal was input, or if there is a short-circuit detected. Press the POWER button on the unit to turn off the system, and check the following items after "STANDBY" disappears.

1) Are the + and - speaker cords short-circuited?
2) Are you using only the specified speakers?.
3) Is anything blocking the ventilation holes of the system?

You may also refer to the following link for additional troubleshooting steps.

PROTECT and PUSH POWER flash alternately on the amplifier screen

Sony Home Theater System DAV-HDX277WC - I get sound and video when playing a DVD, but no voices. Tried many different movies. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Verify that all speakers work for test tones first. The center carries most of the dialog. It's in the manual, as is your symptom (page 101).

Kindly provide / option for head phone in Sony DAV-DZ810 Is this possible?

The only way is to buy a mini head phone amplifier and connect it to the audio out of the system. Even better is to buy a cordless headphone system. Available between 20 to 50 $

Hi,
Change/ reduce HDMI resolution in DAV-DZ810 so your tv can get proper video signal because it seems DAV-DZ810 is set on bit higher picture resolution and tv is unable to present that picture.
Thanks.
