I can't turn off the closed captioning feature on my Sharp Aquos TV . When I pressed the cc button on the remote control, I get the TV input screen. To the right of the cc is a double hyphen ( --), but nothing I press changes anything.

When I press the display button, I get the same window as when I pressed the cc button. In this window it says INPUT1, and underneath it says COMPONENT. These two lines are highlighted. Under these is another little box that says Video: 480i, and under that cc:- - and under that Ratings: NONE. This area is not highlighted. I tried using the down arrow key to highlight these lines, but nothing happened. Nothing changes when I press the cc button on the remote. Please advise. Thank you.

My TV is set up with a Universal remote that works the TIVO, DVD player, etc. Are you sure that resetting the TV to Factory settings will not interfere with the programming of the universal remote.

Hello

In the Closed Caption system, there can be more than one caption service provided. Each is identified by its own number. The "CC1" and "CC2" services display subtitles of TV programs superimposed over the program's picture.

In the Closed Caption system, the "Text1" or "Text2" services display text that is unrelated to the program being viewed (e.g., weather or news). These services are also superimposed over the program currently being viewed.

    Hello
I've given you the procedure from your TVs manual itself. It also says that If complex adjustments are made and the settings cannot be restored to normal, you can reset the settings to the factory preset values.
The channel setup settings will not be changed.
The language setting will not be changed.
The PIN number setting will not be changed.
To reset it to factory settings
Enter into the "SETUP" menu screen.
In that screen you can see "Reset" option.
Hilight it by using UP or Down and [=>] or [<=] button and press enter. The set will reset to its factory settings. After that just try to close the close caption display. OK.

I've given you the descriptions from its user manual. It must be aimed to be with its orginal remote control itself. If all other functions on your TV works with the universal remote control you uses now, probabaly there is no cause to poise any other trouble. I think you have its user manual with you. Check it with. If you haven't one, contact me at the following email, before half an hour from now; because I've to go to bed, and it is quarter to 11PM here.
    [email protected]
I'll send it to you by return mail. OK.

Cant turn off closed caption

sherrillbrom

With our VIP receiver models, you have an option to turn on/off closed caption through the receiver. Press the Menu button on the remote, which will display the Main Menu on the TV screen. Press 8 (Preferences) and then press 6 (Closed Caption). On the Closed Caption screen, press 1. On the Closed Caption On/Off screen, select CC Off and then press Done from the TV screen (using your DISH remote). This will turn the feature off on the receiver. Test to see if it is turned off by watching a program that has CC. If it still appears, then the feature is activated through your TV. Please refer to your TV manual to turn the feature off. I hope this helps.

I have a Sharp AQUOS LC-32D47UA 32", black box

Press the cc button on your remote control. You want cc to be off. Play around with the cc button to become comfortable. Press it over and over again. Observed that a different closed captioning option appears on your screen each time you press the cc button. Now press cc and when it says cc off do not press the button anymore.

How can I active the subtitle and caption for tv programs

My Sharp TV manual says there should be a "CC" button near the upper right corner of your remote control. Keep pressing the button to go through the different options.
Not every TV program has closed caption, so it may not every time.

I hope I answered your question. Please rate me. :)

Turn off closed caption on input(component) on Sharp Aquos 42"

I have a Sharp Aquos 46" and go a Comcast HD receiver as well, and had the same problem turning off the Closed Captioning. I order to turn it off you need to go into the box user setting by (starting w/ the cable box and tv on) pressing the power button for the cable box then the menu button for the cable box. This will open up the user settings menu. Just toggle CLOSED CAPTION to DISABLED.
