Hi, you have to remove the housing underneath and check your belt. most likely is broken. the part# is 902514-01 and you can find it at sears website or service center. also before install clean the motor shaft where the belt goes by running motor and using a knife gently scraping clean of rubber from the old belt.

My Eurika 4D bagless upright will not pick up anything. The belt is not broke but the roller won't spin and there is verry little to no suction. Still makes all the notice but won't roll as easily

You say the belt is not broken and the roller does not spin. Does the motor that spins the belt turn. If the belt does not spin and the little drive motor spins then you will burn the belt out. Try to turn the roller by hand. Could be plugged up with dirt and the roller seized. The little drive motor could be burnt out. Take all hoses and areas out that any dirt could be in. No suction means something is plugged. Even your main suction hose could be plugged.

Drive brush roller spinning in reverse, not picking up

The belt on an 8925 should not have any twist. If it has been twisted the brushroll will go backwards. Install a new belt and make sure it will spin freely with no twist in the belt.

Why is the roller brush spinning half heartedly and making a hesitant whining noise. It's not really picking up anything.

May have a faulty wire or there could be something rapped around the spook at the end jamming it enough to strain the motor and slow the spinning

The roller brush at the bottom of the vacuum is not spinning, hence it isn't picking up the dirt. I am unable to find a way to access it so that I can see what is stopping it from turning. Can you help me?

Hello. uUsually when the roller brush stops spinning the belt is broken. TIp the machine upside down and look for several screws which hold the bottom together. Mark the location of each screw when you remove it as different lengths are common and replacement in the same hole is vital. Joe

The roller that spins with little brushes stopped suddenly and no longer spins. I pressed the red little knob at the end of the roller but it doesn't fix the problem.

open up the roller area check to see if somthing got picked up and jammed into the rollers so that it can't work, a rock or a screw or you might even have a large amount of string or fibers wrapped around the shaft or brush keeping it from rolling

Losing suction in upright position

It's probably your belt. It could be broken or stretched. If broken or stretched, the roller won't spin very well, if at all. Another possibility is that there may be debris blocking suction near the roller. Hope this helps.

Replaced belts and brush roller will not rotate.

check to see if the spindle (small pencil-thin metal rod) is spinning where it projects from the motor. the belt wraps around this rod. if the rod is spinning when the vac is turned on your brush roller could be jammed. the bearing in the far sides of the brush roller frequently pick of long threads and hair and will stop the brush roller or the bearings sometimes overheat when worn and plastic will melt in this area causing stoppage.

Eureka, whirlwind 12 amp vacuum does not pick up anything

That problem can be caused by the belt being stretched out and even though it is spinning when you look at it, with the resistance of the carpet it will stop.

With a model number I could tell you exactly how to change the belt, but most of the whirlwinds I've seen are similar.

You need to gain access the belt and roller. On most models there are two screws on the top of the nozzle inside one of the four indentions that run along each side. Once you take those out it allows you to take the hood off.

Remove the brush roller and old belt. Wrap the new belt around the motor shaft and place the roller through the belt loop and use the roller as leverage to stretch the roller back into the roller housing. It will take a little muscle. Give the roller a spin by hand before putting the hood back on. It should spin easily. If it doesn't then you might have pinched the belt and need to free it or the belt will just burn up when you turn the unit on.

A clog in the hose going down to the nozzle would also cause this problem, so check that hose when you take the hood off.

Not picking up dirt.

There is a Clog in the machine...
Somewhere between the motor and the bag.
When you use the machine, the dirt picked up by the roller has no place to go but backwards.
You will need to disassemble it and look for the clog.
