Yellow status light on mitsubishi wd-65733 tv

When i turn on the tv the yellow status light comes on and the tv shuts off after 30 seconds. the manual says the tv is to hot. it had not been on for 2 days when this happened. the tv is also in the basement where it is very cool down there.

I have the same problem... Sometimes, the TV will be fine for a while (as many as several days)... while other times, it will shut itself off several times in a row.

My current theory is that the TV / bulb is getting too hot -- the problem seems to go away when I place a fan blowing at the back area of the TV (where the fan compartment is).

Some of the additional heat that could be causing this problem might be coming from the electronics that I have in the stand right below the TV (i.e., receiver, cable box, and Playstation 3).

Just now, after it shut itself off, I felt where the heat was coming from my receiver and my cable box -- and then moved them both forwards, as far away from the TV / fan area as possible... and so far, it hasn't shut itself off yet (fingers crossed!)

I have a WD-57733 with same problem. I've replaced all fans and the thermal sensor. I'm thinking it must be a bad board as there is nothing else left.

When tv goes out, press the menu and input buttons. The green light will flash with a 2 digit code.

65" 1080 mitsubishi tv model# WD-65733 wont turn on

It is probably the wiring. Try buying a new power cord.
If not than it is just malfunctioned.
