There is a Paper Thickness lever on the left hand side of the front of the printer. If you go to the following website:

http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?infoType=Doc&oid=58606&prodoid=56291067

You can get the Product Information Guide, or the User's Guide. Both of these will describe which setting you should use for a wide variety of paper. For normal single sheets of paper the lever should be in the down or "L" position. If you are using envelopes the guide instructs that the lever should be in the up or "H" position. They give you a complete table with the appropriate settings to use depending on the thickness.

Thank you for the opportunity to assist you in resolving your issue. Should you need further information or assistance please do not hesitate to let us know.

How to adjust printer for thicker photo paper?

There are several ways to adjust your printer for thicker photo paper:
  1. Check the paper tray: Make sure that the paper tray is adjusted for the thickness of the photo paper. Some printers have adjustable paper trays that can accommodate different paper thicknesses.
  2. Use the manual feed: If your printer has a manual feed option, try using it to feed the thicker photo paper through the printer. This can help prevent jamming.
  3. Adjust the printer settings: Check the printer settings to see if there are any options for adjusting the paper thickness. Some printers allow you to adjust the paper thickness in the driver settings.
  4. Check for software updates: Make sure you have the latest software updates for your printer. Sometimes, software updates can include new settings or features that can improve the printer's ability to handle thicker paper.
  5. Check your printer manual: consult your printer's manual for any specific instructions on printing on thicker papers.
It's also worth noting that not all printers are capable of handling thick papers, so it may be necessary to use a different printer or have it professionally printed if none of the above steps work.

R320 printer won't print on thick photo paper anymore. Regular copy paper works fine. Are there rollers or sensors that I can get to so I can clean and check? Is there a fix for this problem?

  • Make sure that the paper meets paper specifications of the product.
  • Spray compressed in air.
  • If it is a non-Epson brand paper, try Epson paper
  • Make sure that settings are setup properly, Some Epson products have a Thick paper and envelopes or Thick paper to allow it accommodate thick media

I was printing on a A4 thick (invitacion Card)

Make sure there is 1/16 to 1/32 inch space on each side of the paper in the paper tray.
Move the paper type selector back and forth 5 times, to make sure it is not stuck.
Feed the tray with a minimum of 20 sheets of paper and try to see if it loads paper through.
The paper thickness lever has two settings, one for plain paper, (thin paper 20# to 24#) and one for envelopes and thick paper.
It should be on the 0 setting for thin paper and on the + setting for thick paper and envelopes.
The paper adjustment lever may be adjusted in between the two settings to accommodate paper that is not standard or that the operating/environmental conditions have changed.
Make sure the paper is loaded far enough into the printer to ensure good contact between the paper and the paper feed mechanism.

Black ink marks on prints from Epson R380!

Hello:

I have been having this problem all day today and believe I resolved it. The photo paper is thicker (I'm using the Ultra Premium Photo Paper by Epson). I have an Epson 1280 photo printer. I opened the lid and moved the lever to adjust for paper thickness, and voila––no more black ink tracks down the one side. Since photo paper is thicker, this may be your problem as well. Check your manual and see if there's an adjustment for things such as printing envelopes and change the setting. Hope this works for you! I wasted about 6 sheets of paper until I thought to adjust for paper thickness. Please let me know!
