I can't use my webcam

The driver software must be reinstalled on the PC. If there is no result then try to RESTORE the PC to an earlier date. If not the OS must be reinstalled along with the drivers. Alternatively you can couple an external webcam , use the external port, download the driver , load and connect to confirm that the PC port is good. It can also be fault in the webcam hardware in the PC.

Cannot detect webcam

Hi,

Thank you for choosing FixYa. I think it would be better to isolate the problem first if its a Hardware or Software. First check the Device Manager if there is any Imaging Device on it. Click on Start->Control Panel->Device Manager. If there is no imaging device try to reinstall the driver for the webcam and if that doesn't work, I suggest try to reinstall the whole Operating System(OS), by reinstalling the OS it will tell if the webcam is detected, if not it means there is a problem with the Hardware.

Hope it helps you somehow.

How to turn on webcam in my dell inspiron 1525. but i have default cam driver installed in os. tell me the solution.

Is the webcam being recognized in Control Panel/Device Manager - under 'Imaging Devices'?
Have you tried reinstalling the webcam drivers/software you might have received with the laptop?
You can download the latest versions from the Inspiron 1525 from this link Drivers and Downloads

The Dell 'Webcam Manager' software is listed under 'Applications', and the drivers are listed under 'Input Device Drivers' (integrated webcam).
Select the appropriate OS version (i.e. Vista 32bit), download and install those two (drivers first)

Note: When you click the respective download links, don't use the Dell Download Manager!! It's known to cause various problems. Use the 'download in internet browser' option instead.
