It is probably either in set time mode, or some sort of chronograph mode. play with the buttons.

I just recieved my Movado 800 series watch today and the large chronograph timer hand won't reset to zero (top of dial @ 12 o'clock) when I press the zero button. It resets to 56 minute position....

you do not need to return, as this is re-settable. Pull out crown to the first position (date setting) and then toggle with upper push button. If upper button do not do the job, try the bottom one. When you reach 12, then push the crown back in. Start the chrono, stop it and check if it returns to 12.

The chronograph hour hand on my movado series 800 is out of sync and i cant get it back to the 0 position. I have pulled out the crown and pushed the start/stop button...

Try pulling the crown out and using the reset button to move hands beside the sweep arm. If this doesn't work then you may need to take it to a repair shop that can reset or AC the watch. With a movement as fine as Movado I wouldn't attempt this yourself. If you make a mistake the repair could cost more than the watch. Be sure that you have the watch resealed so it maintains its water resistance.

My watch stops in the night. But works fine when i wear it.any ideas?

Yes, the Movado is a self winder, and it was designed for the sports active wearer, of which the motion of the wearer's arm provides the power to keep the watch wound. Apparently you are not active enough for the watch to be fully wound, so when you take it off, it will use up all of the stored energy in the spring and stop. many self winders will only store enough energy for 8-12 hours of use and will require constant wearing. You could try wearing it to sleep and see if this is enough to keep it wound.

If you feel that this is not the case for your watch, then you may want to have it looked at by a watch maker

Just bought this watch today (movado 800 series) and the second hand (hand C) doesnt move at all. It is part of the chronograph function. It is stuck at the 9 oclock position. When chronograph is...

I wouldnt try to return it. I would go back and inform the store of the problem you have and they have no choice but to either fix it, show you how to solve the problem, exchange it, or at the least, return it but please give them a chance to fix the issue.
Best wishes,

My watch battery low. watch name MOVADO series 800

mcdevito75 here, Movado a FINE watch, BEST BET, look for a small watch repair shop in your area to change the battery, Movado watches have a very good over all value and any damage can lessen that value, not to mention the jewelers screwdriver you"ll need to change that battery.

My movado was cleaned and still does not work, works for short , thenit stops

Assuming it's not a quartz watch try winding it fully - about 40 turns of the crown. If you wear it daily it won't need further winding unless you skip a day or you're not very active. The watch is typically wound by the movement of your arm/wrist. Manual winding will compensate for the lack of movement.

My Movado Series 800 second hand zeroes out at the 3-second spot, not at zero (12).

The chronograph can be reset by pulling out the crown to the first or second position and pressing the start button or top button. This will begin to move the sweep arm and you can stop it on the 12:00 or 0 position. Make sure that when you have the battery changed they do this for you.
