Dial Tone but won't call out.

We have a dial tone, but when we start to dial a number, nothing happens. The dial tone continues as if the phone doesn't send the numbers through.

I just started having the same problem today. I can receive calls, but i can't call out. The dial tone is there, but when I I try to dial out, the dial tone stays... Would like to get any info on this too.

Same issue! When I try speaking into one of the handsets, the person on the other end cannot hear me (it is very muffled) and I hear a loud echo of my own voice coming out of my handset. I tried calling in and having someone use the phone to answer, and the voice is extremely soft. Also, when a number button is pushed, the tone produced is very soft. I have tried unplugging the base and phone line for 30 minutes, no luck. I tried swapping a phone cord and jack with a phone that is known to work, no luck. All handsets and the base have the same problem, so I assume the problem is with the base.

Have the same problem. Can receive calls but can not make calls

I have the same issue. The phones began to malfunction several days ago and i called the phone co. The outside circuits checked out so I plugged another phone and it worked just perfectly.
Something is off with the Uniden phone system it'self.

I've had the same problem since an electrical storm. The phones all sound fine, answer properly, and when you press a number, the tone is there, but the dialtone doesn't hear it. *Some numbers work, some work only when you press and hold, or press several times. This happens on all 4 phones of the system. I unplugged the base to reset it, didn't help. *Plus, I have one phone that refuses to register to it's base, even after resetting it's registration.

I get this problem faily often !.... I have been told by a Private Investigatior that it is caused by someone tapping into the phone line. But since any such action by Law enforcment or Spy agancies is secret. The phone companies would be unable to confirm it, even if they knew about it !.

I have been told by a Private investigator, that this is caused by someone tapping into the phone line. He knows this, because he himself was once paid to do so as part of LAw enforcment Agency. However since any such activity is strictly secret, the phone company would be unable to tell you about it even if they knew !.

I just had the same problem. Try unplugging the plug from the electrical outlet for the home(base) unit and plugging back in. Fixed my problem right away.

Hi, I've just had this problem today and i resolved it. Does your phone have abit of noise in the background? Replace the master socket(main telephone socket) and it should be fine

I finally called Uniden and they told me the unit was malfunctioning and I should return it to place of purchase. I bought an ATT phone system for the same price with 5 hand sets.

SOURCE: Dial Tone - Number Dialed does not go through

The problem is possibly the keypad on the phone. Try another phone , preferrably a standard corded phone. If you still cannot break the dial tone, then the problem is with the telephone line (phone company)

they are either restricted or what you are hearing is intercom tone and not dial tone. the phones may be set to dial out from a diffrent line grop as well have you tried dialing 81 82 instead of 9 and see what happens

No dial tone

I would contact your phone provider. It could be a coinceidence that the dial tone stopped working.
DSL does not require dial tone to work.

Phone has a dial tone but will not dial

I would first verify that the line is good. Take a known good corded phone. YES corded phone !!! and try dialing with it and make sure it dials on the line every time. Also make sure that the Pulse/Tone setting is set for your service( there is still a few area without Touch Tone belive it or not)

Once you verify that the line is ok check each phone and take the defective ones back to where you bought them.

No dial tone on handset

It may not be registed with the main unit. You may need to register the handset. With my uniden all i have to do is put it in the main base until it says what handset it is (it should be a number).

If you have any questions please dont hesitate to ask
