When i mak the automatical programin for my tv (toshiba model no. CN27H95) it find nothing!!!! so there are others ways to mak manual programing to find chanels?

This feature is pretty reliable and the lack of channels may be due to the lack of signal to the set.

You must have either an antenna, a cable from a cable service or a satellite receiver connected for the set to find any channels.

Screen says no signal . How do I connect cable?

Connect an antenna, cable box or satellite receiver to the RF Input on the rear. Set the input to Air, or Cable, and run a channel scan for Digital Channels if using an Antenna.

What is a converter box for tv

2_21_2013_6_27_22_pm.jpg
A digital television adapter (DTA), or digital-to-analog converter [set-top box], or commonly known as a converter box, it is a television tuner that receives a digital television (DTV) transmission, and converts the digital signal into an analog signal that can be received and displayed on an analog television set. It may refer to over-the-air broadcast television signals received by an television antenna, or to cable TV systems which switched to digital cable. It normally does not refer to satellite TV, which has always required a set-top box either to operate the big satellite dish, or to be the integrated receiver/decoder (IRD) in the case of direct-broadcast satellites (DBS).

In North America, these ATSC tuner boxes convert from ATSC to NTSC, while in most of Europe and other places such as Australia, they convert from Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB) to PAL. Because the DTV transition did nothing to reduce the number of broadcast television system standards (and in fact further balkanized it), and due to varying frequency allocations and bandplans, there are many other combinations specific to other countries.

TV won't pick up channels 7-13

These are what once were VHF channels and are still mostly assigned to local stations.
You didn't mention the source for your received signals, if antenna, cable or satellite and it does make a difference as to the possible source of the problem.
If you are receiving via antenna, then the problem is within the set itself. If from one of the other two sources requiring a 'box,' then the problem is likely within the cable or satellite box that is between your incoming signal and the set.

I lost my satellite because of money problems. I don't have cable for the same reason. My television will play dvds but I cannot get any television channels. Is there a setting I am missing, or any other...

Yes.
You will need to get an antenna(either indoor or outdoor) for OTA (over the air) receptions,
> Connect the antenna to the back of the tv.
> Go into the main menu and set the channel signal input to Air instead of Cable.
> Go to the channel auto-program menu and scan in the channels.
> Save the results.
> Watch tv.

There is something called FTA (Free to Air) which is similar to satellite tv but does not have a monthly cost. You would however need a receiver.

The words "weak signal" flashes on screen at different places and do not receive a picture.

seems like you are using an "off the air antenna" that receives weak signal, you may be too far from the station, go get a roof top amplifier antenna or subscribe to digital service from cable, satellite or at&t uverse. If you think your antenna is getting good signal, try to rescan your tv for available channel. Make sure your TV set up is correct, if you are using Off the air signal, your setting should be set at "Antenna or off the air", then rescan your TV. Normally on Satellite or cable box, you just watch it on video channel or component input, if you are using HDMI then tune to HDMI channel.
Check your connection to make sure they are making good contact. If you can post your set up, I can better solve your problem.
For a resource on "off the air" antenna, go to www.antennaweb.org for help.

Initial hdmi tv, no signal received

If you are trying to get 'off the air' signals then you must scan for the new digital channels in your reception area (this info should be in your owners manual). If scanning doesn't find any signals, you might have to add a VHF/UHF line amplifier(s) between your antenna and the TV set or improve your outside antenna or the cable leading from it to your set. You might have to resort to subscribing to HD cable or satellite TV.
