Cannot use my Internet Exployer, want to get online now

Check if your internet explorer is not in offline mode (recommandation: update to latest version)
Check your network settings.

Sorry to here about your issue. It sounds to me that you might have some kind of Malware on this PC. Internet explorer comes with the Operating system and is on your computer.
Try this:
in Windows XP
Start>My Computer>C:>Program Files>Internet Explorer
Once you're in the Internet Explorer window you will see the "E" for internet Explorer you can drag and drop it to your desktop or Right click and send to your desktop.
If there is Malware on the PC you will have to remove that to resolve your issues. so try this

Boot your PC into safe mode with Networking:
To start the computer in safe mode with Networking 1.
You should print these instructions before continuing. They will not be available after you shut your computer down in step 2.

Click Start and then click Shut Down.

In the drop-down list of the Shut Down Windows dialog box, click Restart, and then click OK.

As your computer restarts but before Windows launches, press F8.

Use the arrow keys to highlight the appropriate safe mode with networking option, and then press ENTER.

If you have a dual-boot or multiple-boot system, choose the installation that you need to access using the arrow keys, and then press ENTER.

Clear your cookies by Clicking on your browser Tools > Internet Options > Delete all Cookies, passwords, etc.
Then you will be offline & the next time when you go online it will bring you to the log in page again.

Try Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer (no add-ons).

check under tools>manage add-ons. any add-ons that don't have a supplier name, or that you don't require should be disabled. also, delete any cookies and temporary internet files. ensure you have a good anti-spyware system, and using AVG go to the "warnings" tab of scan results and click on "remove all unhealed infections"

you may need to reinstall exployer

check the enryption on the router(modem) and the computer. both need to be the same. The icon is telling you it is connected (signal wise). but there is no authentication between the computer and the modem.

reset internet exployer remove old one 1st

or could it be wireless

Connect your computer to the modem and check first if you have an internet connection directly. If you do not contact your ISP. If you do connect the router back up, turn off and on the router then restart your computer and check the internet again.
