Paper light flashing when paper tray is full - Brother HL-2030 Laser Printer

The light flashing may mean more things, not just a paper jam. Could mean any of the following:
- Front cover is open: Close the front cover of the printer.
- Back cover is open: Close the back cover of the printer.

- No paper fed manual feed slot: Put the paper back in the manual feed slot.
- Memory full: The printer memory is full and the printer cannot print full pages of a document. To solve this problem, click here.

There could be a paper jam in the machine. Open the front cover remove the drum and toner and look in the machine. Open the back cover and look for a Jam as well.

Try putting a piece of paper in the manual feed tray which is right above the paper tray, sometimes on certain documents the margins are too big and asks to go into the manual feed slot.

which printer is this?

make sure there are less number of papers in the paper tray.
try removing all the papers from the paper tray.
check for any obstructions in the paper feeder / printer.

Pull the tray out and make sure the back guide is pushed against the paper. The back guide tends to move easily on these models

pull cassette out and look inside the cassette bay on the left side. there is a white gear that lifts up your paper. that might have come unseated. make sure its seated in right by pushing it back in. last but not least, make sure you don't have your rear paper stopper in cassette pushing paper too hard against the front of cassette preventing paper from raising up.

First check the machine for paper jams. If not, remove the paper from the paper tray and reinstall it. Then try to print from the MP tray.If this works, check paper size settings on the printer driver, or the small black arm which hangs down next to the paper pick up roller, and is the paper sensor.

turn the printer off, count to ten, then note the light sequence ie: flashing organge solid orange, flashing green or solid green

ON your driver check that the paper size is correct and this most commonly occurs when the incorrect paper size is selected. For example if you are printing to A4 and you have letter size installed in the machine then the system will cause an error or jam when there is nothing there.

Also within word or which ever program you are using on the document goto file and then down to page setup once in there check the paper size make sure it's correct for the paper in your machine also check the paper source. Once you have done this check the paper tray guides are correctly against the paper turn on and try printing and hopefully this will work.

1. Verify the following: * There is sufficient paper in the paper tray (at least ten sheets). * The paper tray is not overly full. * The paper stack is touching the back of the paper tray. 2. Slide the paper guides so they fit firmly against the edges of the paper. 3. Press the Resume button to continue printing. good luck :-)
