Not sure if this is for your exact model but here is a link to an Online User's Manual for one similar:

http://www.kitchenaid.com/assets/pdfs/product/ZUSECARE/KECC508RPS_Use%20and%20Care_EN.pdf

Just click on the link (underlined and highlighted text) with your mouse and a new browser window will automatically open to show you the information in the manual.

On page 7, it reads as follows:

To Lock Cooktop: Touch and hold the CONTROL LOCK/
ALL OFF keypad for 5 seconds. After 5 seconds, CONTROL
LOCK will glow red, indicating that the cooktop touch controls
are in the lockout position.

To Unlock Cooktop: Touch and hold the CONTROL LOCK/
ALL OFF keypad for 5 seconds.

If you have any questions or require further assistance just comment back to this page and I will endeavour to help.

Good luck and please click on the 4 Thumbs Up rating icon if this was at all helpful.

Thank you very much.

Joe.

i have tried that, as that is how you normally turn off the child lock. i am holding my finger on the sensor for well over 5 seconds and there is no response.

Have you tried switching off the breaker for the unit at the house's main electrical panel and then leaving it off for about 5 minutes before switching it back on? See if cycling the main power supply like that will clear the lock.-------------Joe.

How do i turn off child lock

I expect you have found the solution by now since this post is so old - but for any other that are searching, just push the child lock knob down and turn the knob and it should pop back up, turning the gas back on.

I need a replacement glass top for my Thermador CEP 365/CET365 cooktop. It is cracked but works fine. Where can I get this?

contact the service agent for the brand to see if a replacement glass is available
in reality you are not required to replace the glass as glass breaks in normal use and is out of your control and in renters terms comes under fair wear and tear

My Zanussi Induction cooker model ZKT 621LX is not working? When I try to switch it on, the display for all 4 cooking zones shows L and after a few seconds, it just shuts off? What could be the problem?

Hello Horus,

The child-lock has been activated - probably accidentally, but someone may think you're not safe to use it. The de-activate the child lock . . .

1. Switch the cooktop on so all zone show "L"
2. Press both the + sign for the right-front zone and the - sign simultaneously. All four zones will show "0" with flashing decimal points.
3. Press the - sign again. The cooktop will switch off.

You can now switch the cooktop on and use it normally again.

Hope this helps. If you have any difficulty de-activating the child-lock or need further assistance, please let me know.

Regards,
BElectric.
