The past week the memory stick menu flickers or stays on for secs and now is on one half the time. If I change a channel or press the memory stick button, it will correct itself for a while and then return to the menu once again. I do not have a reset button on my remote, but I have unplugged the set overnight without benefit. I have never used a memory stick either. Any ideas?

SOURCE: TV suddenly doesn't respond to Sony remote & power button on Satellite remote.

I am having the same problem with the "initial setup" screen flashing repeatedly/ intermittently. It's not a problem with the remote. In the research I have done online, it seems as though this is a common/known problem with the Wegas that will require a service visit. Apparently the problem is a defective receiver chip. The best thread I found is at: http://www.agoraquest.com/viewtopic.php?topic=15393&forum=34&start=0&select_page_number=1 I've seen some speculation that it is caused by windex or cleaning fluid dripping down when the screen is cleaned and corroding one of the internal components. That's not applicable in my case, since I always just clean the screen with a microfiber dusting cloth. So, I guess I will be calling a repairman and spending $$$ to fix as it is now flashing up so often as to be unwatchable. Ridiculous, I think, given that my TV is only 3 years old!!

Blue on the screen of the tv

Try to initialize it!

I had whole redish/pinkish screen on my 50v500 starting a few days ago, then I read through each of the threads on this site for the samilar problems on my model. I found TVtechmaniac's solution (pasted below) solved my problem. Thank you TVtechmaniac!

Enter the I2C Service Menu, be sure the power is OFF.
1. On the front control panel, press and hold the INPUT button.
2. Then press the POWER button for two seconds.
3. You may keep the INPUT button depressed until you see the OSD with the Service Menu displayed.
4. If you don't see the service menu, please repeat Process making sure you wait until the Power blinking LED stops.
5. Execute the Memory Initialize operation after the adjustment values have been written on a sheet of paper. Highlight "MEMORY INTI", arrow to the right and hold the button to the right (approx 5 sec.) until a check mark appears in the box. This activates the Memory Initialization.
6. After the Memory initialize operation has finished (10~15 sec, the channel will revert to CH 3.) the pink image symptom should be fixed.
7. Write back the adjustment values from your notes to their respective adjustment parameters in the adjustment mode. (In other words, set the Data Values back to the the Data values written down before the Memory Initialization procedure). NOTE: Make sure the SELECT Button is pressed on remote after every change to the values. Failure to do so will result in the data values not being changed.
8. Exit I2C menu. Press exit repeatedly until you go back to the normal picture.
9. Turn the set off-on and Confirm the picture remains in a good condition.
BE SURE TO COPY DOWN DATA SETTINGS BEFORE INITIALIZING I2C SETTINGS

Viewsonic N3250W- turns on, the screen flickers on then its black

This could be a problem with the tv's memory. Try resetting the TV. Unplug the unit for a few seconds (10-60). Then restore the TV to the factory default settings. Viewsonic has changed it's menus at intervals so you may have to check your manual. It may be Menu > Setup > Memory Recall or Menu > Options > Restore Default (or something slightly different). From there, click enter, use the right or left arrow to select YES, hit enter. Leave the menu system (Menu twice). Then hit Menu > Channels and rescan all channels.

An alternative cause of the problem may be a weak signal - check that your antenna is pointing right at the station and is the correct type to get the signal at the distance you are from the station. (Usually a weak signal would also have the audio breaking up but weird things can happen.)

I hope this helps.

Cindy Wells
(who recently had a channel pair that started out with flickering signal issues and then had one channel lose video and the other audio. The memory reset and rescan resolved the problem.)

PSP SCREEN FLICKERS AND GOES SLOW IN MAIN MENU

Ok...this sounds crazy but it happened to one of my PSPs. I updated the firmware on my system and the menu started stalling and taking a long time to respond. I shut the PSP all the way down....holding the power button until the light shuts off (about 4 or 5 seconds)...Hold the R button and power the system on again (you should be in recovery mode)...go to CPU speed and make sure it is either set at "Default" or "222"....I belive 222 is the default setting....also make sure the UMD is also set at "Default" or 222....if you're going to use the UMD.

SPECIFIC FIX FOR GE 32GT660

I have the same problem, except that it would turn on by itself and then start changing channels. I had a can of compressed air and sprayed the button areas to see if there were sticking. It worked for a coupe of days, then started happening again. So I searched the web and found a response to a question someone else posted and the ensuing reply "most likely you have one of 2 things going on one is the foam between the buttons and the switches or you may have a switch getting leaky and would need replaced" Looks like I may have to taking the cover off and find some type of electronic cleaner, or replace the buttons. I find it odd that I got hits for the same issue with the same model. hhhhmmmmm?
