Connecting laptop/computer to wireless router
If you have a wireless router and it is connected to the DSLor cable modem and Internet then -To connect to your wireless router, the router needsits wireless settings to be configured with the SSID, encryption key etc., alsothe wireless cards and wireless adapters in all the laptops/computers needs tobe configured with these router's wireless settings. Then the laptops/desktopcomputers can communicate with your wireless router and access the Internet via the DSLor cable modem.

1Before you connect Nintendo Wii to wireless Internet, set up your Wii console according to the manufacturer's directions.

2Turn on the Nintendo Wii and wait for the main menu to appear.

3Using the Wii remote, point and click on the small Wii button in the bottom left corner.

4Select Wii settings.

5In the bottom right corner click the black square with the number 2 in it or use the right directional arrow to go to the next page. When you come to "Internet" click it.

6To connect Wii to the Internet select "Connection Settings."

7On the next screen select the first connection that says "none."

8On the following page, when given the option for wired connection or wireless Internet, select "wireless."

9Now it's time for your Wii to search for a wireless connection. To do this choose "search for an access point."

10Press "okay" and find the name of your wireless Internet. If it's not on the first page, arrow down until you find it. If you need a password to access the Internet, you will be asked to enter it. Click okay.

11Click save and okay so the Wii remembers the wireless Internet connection options for the future.

12Finalize the Wii Internet connection process by testing the wireless connection.

13When Wii's wireless Internet test finishes successfully, you're ready to play Wii online.

connected to wireless router with excellent signal may not means you are connected to internet. make sure your modem provided by internet service provider has signal! connect your computer to modem directly bypassing router. If you are online that means your internet is functional. Then connect modem to your Linksys router and use your wireless to log on to internet.
Your router wireless signal active and excellent means you are connected to router not necessarily the internet. The modem supplied by your internet service provider with active internet should be connected to you router on WAN port!

All the laptops available in market have built in wireless 802.11 b/g/n or 802.11 b/g/n Bluetooth® wireless networking. It means that you can access the internet via Wi-Fi or through Wi-Fi hotspots. In wireless connectivity you do not require the wired connection to access the internet. In home you can connect the laptop via wireless connection using the home networking router available in market. The advantage of wireless connection is that you can use the internet in your home anywhere with in 100 meters of range with proper wireless signals. You will require to get the internet connection from the ISP(Internet Service Provider).

Try turning off the router for 30 secs, then power it up again.
Then try connecting a LAN cable from the computer to the router and see if you can connect to the Internet.
If you can connect to the Internet then -
With the LAN cable open a browser and type in the configuration URL and check the Wireless settings, then check and/or the wireless card settings (it should have the router's SSID and encryption settings etc.)
Also install the latest wireless card driver.
Then test the wireless and Internet connection. If this doesn't work -
Next connect the computer with a LAN cable to the cable or DSL modem to see if you can connect to the Internet.
If you cannot get an Internet connection with the LAN cable, contact your ISP and get them to test the connection to your modem.
If the modem and Internet is OK and you still cannot get a wireless connection then the problem could be a faulty wireless router.

Do you know for sure there is a wireless connection in the area you trying to connect, Wireless internet isn't accessible every were and when it is available it could be protected by a security pass phrase. The only way to really get full use out of your wireless internet is to go to a company that sells the wireless internet cards

check whether wireless drivers are installed.
check wireless is enabled.
check in network connections whether u can c wirelass lan connection.

u need a wireless key to connect to the internet, log in to the router page and wireless settings - copy the wireless key to get connected wirelessely

1. Make sure that wireless settings are properly synchronized.
>> ssid/security key.
2. Check your computers wireless connection status
> Make sure that it is set to "obtain ip address automatically)
3. If still not working if computer is set to obtain ip automatically, try assigning static ip on wireless pc
> You need to know your router's ip address and dns
4. Disable firewall on wireless pc.
