How can I unjam the soap drawer on a Hotpoint WD63, I have removed the top of the washing machine, but the unit in which the drawer sits is sealed. The screws holding the unit are screwed from the outside and look to be under the faceplate of the Drawer ?
Hiya
yes the screws are behind the soap drawer, will the drawer not open at all? if not then the only way would be to force it open and the chances are it will break and need replacing. if it opens about 2/3's of the way try pressing the thin blue locking tab in the middle of the two channels and pulling.
hope this helps

The main control unit on the WM62 is at the top behind the user facia control panel. If you remove the lid you should get relative easy access to it. If memory serves, there are 2 wee plastic plug to remove on the SIDES of the top lid, ease them out with a flat screw driver, then you need a torx T20 screwdriver to remove the screws behind the plug. The lid should now be removed with a gentle knock forward from the rear of the lid. Remove the soap drawer and you will see a few more screws, remove these and the 2 screws on the top of the Facia, the control unit is now easily removed.
filter is located at the bottom rear of the appliance... if its pump obstruction then to lay the drain hose into a bowl is a means of getting the water out manually.. if its a blockage and water wont drain this way then lay the unit down on its R/H side (not soap dispenser side)....then acces to the filter can be made without flooding the place..best if 2 persons were to do this as the machine can be heavy when full with water and clothes.. best of luck..
I would not say that is normal wear and tear, but the fabric softener or bleach dispenser may not have gotten replaced correctly after they were removed. You should rarely have to clean these out (as they are flushed with water on each cycle) Make sure they are installed correctly and you should not have repeat problems. Now,
Here's a possible solution to the current jammed dispenser: Remove the two screws on the bottom side of the plastic clips on the back of the washer (leaving the clips attached to the washer's top), then use the palms of your hands to sharply push the top back about an inch and a half and lift the top off the machine. Now, if you can see enough through the translucent plastic to tell where the hang up is, you can drill a small hole in the top of it to allow you to push that part down so the drawer will open. Then, use foil duct tape to seal the hole.
Remove dispenser drawer from m/c, and thoroughly clean it and all accessories.Clean all residual build up of undesolved powder and conditioner in drawer compartment..
If it still leaks, then remove top cover, locate large black hose at bottom of dispenser, and give it a good squeeze to clear any possible blockage in the hose itself..
If still no better, could be due to exceptionally high water preesure forcing the water out of the drawer.
Turn cold water valve down a little to reduce pressure.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.
TO FIX THIS PROBLEM I WOULD FIRST TAKE OUT THE SOAP DRAWER AND CHECK THE HOSE AND MAKE SURE IT IS NOT CLOGGED WITH WASHING POWDER AS IT CAN BECOME HARD AND BLOCK THE PIPE BY 50% ALSO CLEAN UNDERNEAT AND AROUND WHERE THE SOAP DRAWER SLIDES IN REGARDS UNDER THE DOOR MAKE SURE THAT THE RUBBER IS SPOTLESS AND SITTING PROPERLY .CLEAN UNDER THE DOOR AS WELL.
I TAKE WHAT YOU MEAN IS THAT HE PULLED THE DOOR HANDLE TO HARD WHICH MEANT THAT A PEICE OF THE DOOR MEAHISION HAS BROKEN WHAT YOU CAN DO IS UNPLUG THE MACHINE TAKE THE TOP OFF AND TAKE THE SOAP DRAWER OUT ALTOGETHER RELEASE THE FOUR SCREWS TAKE THE TWO KNOBS OFF THEN LIFT UP THE FRONT PANAL TAKE THE THREE SCREWS FROM ACCROSS THE FRONT AND THREE FROM THE BOTTOM THEN JUST LIFT FORWARD THE FRONT PANAL YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE INTERLOCK AND RELEASE THE DOOR REPLACE THE DOOR HANDLE UNIT
Some softeners are too thick, you could dilute this with water before you add to the machine. Note: Your tube to the softener drawer could be loose or something, you could check this by taking the top of the machine off to examine. Actually simple.
during the rinse the machine uses a higher level of water, therefore check the door seal for holes,if the water is leaking from the soap drawer in the spin then this suggests that you may have a blockage in the outlet hose or in the sump filter, to check the filter remove the sump hose, the filter is hidden in the hose.
