The problem is bacteria building up in the water lines once the water dries. You should be using a jet cleaning product to clean the water lines out before they dry.

We have several different good cleaners on our site that all work well at keeping bacteria out of your water lines.
You can click on the link below and it will show you what is available.

Our Jacuzzi hot tub was just refilled and the blower jets are not working. There is a loud sound from the pump but no air coming into the tub. Is there a air lock release valve we can try?

if your tub was not used for a bit of time your gonn have to pop open the sides and have a look around , Hoses that go nowhere or loose looking are what your looking for, plus water leaks , i did have a problem once with squirels getting inside one and eating hoses off ,made nest inside and generally messed things up inside it but any wild animal could do the same thing

Jacuzzi air on/off button on tub jams in when you turn it on and doesnt want to turn off

This is is a problem that develops over time. The center of the air button can get calcium built up and the close tolerances of the button and the inside of the button body will begin to stick.
Take some soft emery cloth and run around the inside of the button bosy and the outside of the button then reinstall and see if that will prevent the button from sticking in the down position.

I have a Jacuzzi Hot tub and it flashes OH. I was told to drain it and flush with cleaner and install a new filter which I did. It was good for about a week then it flashed OH again. I took the filter out...

I don't ever use any cleaner other than vinegar and warm water in the jacuzzi tub due to certain chemicals which could cause problems with the breaking down of pipe glue and other o-rings and the pump sealed bearings itself...............I would run it with vinegar again for 15min which is safe to you and your family but it may be breaking down and wearing out depending on the age............Hope this helps.

Black debris particles sticking to clothes

This assumes that you have a basic Kenmore / Whirlpool top load, direct drive, neutral drain (it doesn't spin until the pump removes most of the water) machine.

First, see the Sears parts site for your washer:
http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action

Enter your model number (###.######) and you'll see a list of major sub-components with diagrams and parts.

See the section for the basket and tub assembly's

It's very un-likely that the Motor Coupler can cause black spots on clothes. It's far enough away from the tub and basket that even if it were wearing, the black rubber would drop to the floor instead of moving up.

It could well be the gaskets in the outer tub.

I'd pull the cabinet in order to get to the hoses going to and from the pump first.

See the following:

http://www.american-appliance.com/catalog/newsdesk_info.php?newsPath=16&newsdesk_id=131

I'd also check the gaskets at the bottom of the tub.

If you're reasonably mechanically inclined, these are easy fixes.

If you have to get to the gaskets at the bottom of the tub, see the following for how to remove the agitators, pump, motor, transmission, spin tube and basket.

(It sounds a bit complicated but it's not really that difficult.)

You don't have to buy a special spanner wrench to remove the spanner nut. I've used a short 10" pipe wrench hooked over one of the tabs on the spanner nut, tap the handle with a hammer and it should loosen.

Also, don't directly hit the drive block with a hammer. Use a short piece of wood under the drive block and tap up on the wood.

As an aside, see the following Whirlpool Service Manual for top load direct drive washers.

https://secured.whirlpool.com/Service/SrvTechAdm.nsf/2cd44500d572193285256a45004fd9d6/f7e2147fa98b28cf85257122007475cb/$FILE/L-55.pdf

Depending on the problem (likely gasket) it's certainly less expensive than calling in a repair person and gives you a chance to thoroughly clean the washer.

While you have the washer apart, it might be a good idea to replace the motor coupler again. (A $15 - $20 part)

Jacuzzi tub air push swith not hooked up

It does hook up to the pump/motor there should be a friction fitting that the hose fitts over there is a square like box sitting on top of motor this is where i would look for the hook up (should be in the area of the pump/motor electrical cord) . I hope this helps. Thanks for using FIXYA. Have a great week.

My jacuzzi tub motor will hum but does not run. I

I had this same problem. I looked at the motor, and on one end (the end opposite where the water comes out) there is a hole in the middle. In that hole is a regular screw tip, which can be used to turn the motor. I filled the tub, inserted a slotted regular screwdriver and turned it about 8 times clockwise, then 8 times counterclockwise. You should see the whole motor turn. Doing this loosened it up, and then it started.

Once it started, all kinds or residue came out, which was probably why it had stopped working. I hadn't used it for a while.

After getting it running I'm going to run some cleaning solution through it, and make sure I run it more often to prevent this in the future.

Black soot in my jacuzzi tub

sounds like the rubber seals are going bad, does it recomend to run cascade thru the jets? this might be harmful to the gaskets and the pump, you maight want to disconnect the hose and flush out the tubes going around the tub, but I would call jacuzzi and ask them if this is good to run thru there, thye might be able to help you with the gaskets, questions over the phone do not cost you, call them, ask for repairs section good luck

Indoor jacuzzi bathtub problem

Just add 1/2 cup bleach to a full tub of clean water, turn on the jets.

Grab a small goldfish strainer / net and scoop out the moldy chunks.

Keep cycling the water until most of the chunks are gone.

Drain the rub, refill and add 1/2 cup bleach again, repeating the process.

The problem is caused by water left in the lines after use, and it turns moldy.

After each use...drain the tub completely, then turn on the jets for about 10 seconds. This will purge the lines of any standing water.

Fill the tub with clean water and cycle the jets with bleach once a week to prevent any further problem.

Hope this helps...it worked for me, I had the same problem.
