Was working fine as I was driving then went blank. Able to restart after awhile and would resume directions where it left off. Battery check would at times show green charge then revert to red while having the same connection.

Sounds like your alternator went bad. The battery ran down after awhile and now it won't restart because your battery is too weak. Have the alternator checked and if bad, replace. Charge or replace the battery and that should fix it.
you need to open it and check the wires behind the power board sometimes those wires get loose from the solder weld the battery its ok if you have it connected to your car lighter, I had that happen to me so I opened it and found broken solder welds at the end of those wires, it is a very delicate work to get to it but I think that's what it is.
