Greetings,
If this is not a glass top stove. The burner switch is at fault. usually there might be two lights..one for each side. if the light is on right side on range. Its one of those two switches. This applies the same to the left. I would unplug range. Remove back cover and once figuring out which side it is. follow the wire from the lite to one of the switches...Remove one wire at a time and insulate it..plug in range..if lite is on. unplug connect that back and remove wire from other switch. do this everytime to each switch till you find out which one it is. you can leave it off, once you determine which one it is...make sure its insulated..you can replace switch if you want.

The self-clean function won't work. I followed the instructions in the manual exactly....but no luck. I pushed in the "clean" button, door locked light comes on. Then I turn the...

From the manual: The main oven and companion oven are equipped with heavy-duty, porcelain - coated racks which are designed to remain in the oven during the self-clean cycle.
So they have nothing to do with your problem. From what you describe it appears that as the thermostat button is turned it either simply powers down the oven because the command wire for the clean cycle is disconnected or it trips some kind of overheat safety that is functioning incorrectly.
The oven will have to be extracted from its place, its back removed to access the thermostat button (and its wirings) and the control board which will have to be tested. This isn't the simplest of jobs so if you have never done something like this before then you will have to call a pro. The parts won't cost much (less than $100) but the labor will so shop for the most affordable one.

Gas range does not light up (no clicking)

There is a transformer in it that bumps the 120vac house voltage to 230 volts. I'm 98% positive the transformer is bad and it was more than likely caused by a power company surge. I suggest calling for service since it is Monogram. It is more complex to work on. That said, I would ONLY trust GE Factory Service 1-800-432-2737 or schedule online at www.geappliances.com to have it fixed.
