Physically disconnect the SU board and the SD board. (See precaution # 5)

Plug in the TV and turn it on.

Does the TV shut down and the power LED

blink 7 times?

Replace the Panel and the SU board.

(See precaution #3)

Reconnect the SD board only.

(See precaution # 5)

Plug in the TV and turn it on.

With the SU board and the SD board still disconnected, remove connectors SC2 and SC20 from the SC board (See precaution # 6)

Plug in the TV and turn it on.

Disconnect the SD board and reconnect the SU board. (See precaution # 5)

Tv won't turn on
High voltage shutdown. The high voltage has exceeded 33k and the unit goes immediately into safety shutdown. 7 blinks is indicate for faulty power supply however if you already replace it the possible problem is on main board..

Thats a driver error which is usually indicating the SC board has an issue. But it could also be the SU or the SD boards. But the SC is most likely for the 7 blink error

My Sony KDS-R60XBR1 60 inch HDTV came on for a few min then shut down itself, and the power/standby led blinks in a 7 times mode (7 times then 7times then 7 times ... ). I read thru the fixes on this site...
Ok i have consulted the shops service manual on that sony model.A blinking led of 7 times is and indication that your audio cuircitry has blown. or shorted. most likely the audio amplifer ic. ic number 3005 on the K cuircit board. Specifically the audio power supply line has become shorted. most likely it would need replaced along with its assocated fuse ps3001

Sony KP-51WS500 will not turn on
I believe the problem is either in the G board ( power supply) or the D Board ( high voltage) as the 3 blinks indicate the G board, and 7 indicates the D board and 6 indicates the +5 line a and b boards. So with that many codes its most likely the G board (power supply) You can get a new replacement G board at the following link which comes with free tech support to help you plug the baord in which is very easy. Its listed under the Sony parts category and its the A-1316-566-A sony G board, Here is the link.

This is usually an indication of a failure in the scan amplifier sections. When the scan amplifiers or high voltage sections fail, the main power supply will usually also require servicing.

It is very common that the fly-back and high voltage multiplier and also the horizontal output stage fails in these sets. Along with it, the power supply will usually require to be serviced. On rare occasions, the vertical deflection amp fails.
