Hi my daughter has blocked her sim card i think its asking her for a PUK code could you help me ive no way of phoning 02 services

There is nothing to do with your mobile phone when your PUK blockcked. To get the PUK code number you need to call your SIM card operator customer service and ask them for the PUK number.
Remeber don't eneter wrong PUK number three times otherwise your SIM will be blocked permently.
You can use other SIM card and phone to call your SIM card operator and get the PUK.

Few people use PIN locking system to lock their phone to avoid un-authorised access. Though this is a good option, it gives off sometime. Three wrong entry of PIN code will result in SIM blocking. Once SIM gets blocked, phone starts asking PUK code to enter. If you again enter wrong code for three times, SIM gets completely blocked. You have to walk into your service provider outlet to get a replacement SIM card.

Hi if your phone is asking for the PUK code then what this means is its not a security code for the phone its the security code for the sim card, to solve this problem you have a couple of options.

if you need to use the sim card that is asking for the PUK code then all you need to do is call your service provider and tell them you need the PUK code they will then ask you for either the phone number for that sim card or they will ask for the number written on the sim card itself, they wont charge for giving you this code and will give it you over the phone. the code is between 8 and 12 digits long so dint try guessing as you only get 10 chances then the sim is blocked and can no longer be used.
so give your service provider a call and they will give you the PUK code for free over the phone.

now the other option you have is this, if you dont need to use that sim card that is asking for the PUK code then all you need to do is get a new sim card that is accepted by the phone if your phone takes any network then use any network you prefer to use if its locked to one network then you need to get a sim card the same as the network your phone accepts such as the one asking for the PUK code, when you get a new sim card you are given the PUK code written on the card the sim card is stuck to, so getting a new sim card will also solve your problem.

its up to you what you do but both ways will solve your problem, the cheapest would be to give your service provider a call and unlock the sim thats asking for the code.

Most network providers give sim cards away so if you want to get a new sim card have a look around and see if you can get one for free.

Hi the PUK code is the security code for the sim card and not the phone you can only get the PUK code for the sim card by ringing your service provider you need to give them the sim cards number and they will then give you the code for free over the phone.

if you have entered the code wrong more than 5 times then the chances are the sim card is now blocked and can no longer be used.

you can put a new sim card in and this wont ask for the PUK code, how ever if the sim card is blocked you will lose all the info stored on the sim card such as numbers,texts etc so make sure you dont try guessing the PUK code as its totally random code and the only way of getting this is by calling your service provider

PUK code is a SIM specific code assigned by your service provider. No way you can guess & enter it. So, when it asks for the PUK code, don’t do anything, get the PUK code from your service provider.

Call to customer care using any other mobile phone which uses the same service provider. They will ask some details about you to make sure you are the owner of the SIM card. Questions might include your billing address, email ID, numbers you recently called or messaged etc. They might even ask you number printed on the SIM card, so be prepared with all details before calling them. Once you get the PUK code, enter it into the phone & your phone will return to normal.

The PUK code is asked if you enter a wrong pin 3 times.

You need to call your phone service company, they can retrieve the puk code from a database for free.

In your case you need to contact your SIM card phone provider technical support to unlock the SIM.


The PIN and PUK are related to the SIM card, not to the phone.

If you replace the SIM card with a different one, then the phone will not ask for the PUK anymore.
