If this is for a 50 amp 250 volt outlet, you should have 1 green screw and two brass screws. The ground/bare wire goes on the green, and the white and black go on the other two. does not matter which one is where

How to hardwire a 3 wire wall to a 4 wire oven

Simply put, it won't work. New oven=white is neutral, black and red are power but not on the same "leg", and green is ground. If you use a meter, black and red should give you 208-230 or so volts. Wires from wall=White is neutral, blank is voltage (probably 120 or so volts) and bare copper is ground. The dual voltage plug can be used for either 125 or 250 volts, not both as required by the new oven. Need an new circuit pulled and wire/breaker matched to new oven power requirements.

What do I do with the red wire on a Brinks Halogen Motion Sensing outdoor security light

Please perform these connections with the mains power off.

The standard is the Black wire is hot, the White wire is neutral, and the Red wire is switched. For your Sensor connection 120V is connected Black to Black and white to white while the Load is connected White to White and Black to Red (assuming your load is using standard color coding.
Here is a simple diagram for your connection.

I have a oil less compressor 120volt,2.5amp,60hz,1phase,100psi tank that has 3 wires a black,white,green..the black an white connect to a panel inside the plastic cover of the compressor, the green isn't...

Connect green wire to any steel surface so that the body of the compressor is grounded.
Otherwise, join another wire to the green wire and extend the length to a surface that can ground the compressor body.
For safety, a motor must always be grounded.
To test the ground, connect power to compressor, and test hot black wire to steel body of compressor and to steel housing of motor ... if there is a positive ground the test will show 120V.
Tape tester leads to wood sticks for safety... do not touch anything made of metal... stand on completely dry surface... never stand on bare ground... stand on boards and wear dry shoes.

Simadre plasma cutter

Green yellow would be earth ground. Confirm it with a test meter.

Solid green and solid brown would attach to the 240 hots- no return white.

4 wire hook up ,where does green and white wire from unit connect

Hi Larry, The green wire is colored green to identify "earth" meaning it is a ground. Do not connect to "hot" nor "neutral", it MUST be connected to the chassis/ground only. That should answer your question. Thanks for coming to "fixya" and please take a second to rate this answer according to it's helpfulness. Good luck macmarkus :)

I know I need to put my red and black wires in the bottom of the breaker switch near the area where the curly white wire goes in. There are three holes. Which three holes do I use for the red and black...

One of the holes will have a white dot painted on it DO NOT USE THAT HOLE. There should be two holes that line up and one hole that is offset (the one with the white dot)
