The flame sensor is weak . This will allow the gas valve to turn off the pilot light flame

check for gas at pilot tube first . if there and pilot not lighting then pilot line or orifice is clogged. if pilot is lighting check for 24v to main gas valve terminals. if have voltage either you have a bad gas valve or carry over tube on rack is clogged . if older unit clean carry over tube reinstall and check for voltage and if lights if not then gas valve is bad

When you say two burners, I believe you are referring to the pilot flame and the main burner. The pilot flame has to light and heat the thermocouple befoe the main burner will ignite. The pilot flame will not light if: there is not enough gas in the tank, the pilot jet is clogged, or the regulator is bad. Check the tank to make sure it has gas. The next thing to check is the pilot jet. You have to take the heater apart, somewhat, to get to the pilot jet. The tube and the orifice need to be cleaned out, compressed air in a can and a pipe cleaner make the job a little easier. If this does not work, replace the reglator and hose.

The pilot light should remain "ON" all the time. It is not intended to ever go off, unless you are not going to use the fryer for several months at a time. Then you can just shut off the propane which will shut off the pilot light flame. It does not cost that much to run the pilot light all the time. About one to two dollars a week.

All Manuals are available on Frymasters website. the orifice is located in the pilot line where the gas line connects to the pilot. You will have to unscrew the fitting and remove the orifice. It is best to clean the entire pilot assembly and the gas line going to the orifice. Many times when a pilot tube has leaked and possibly burned incorrectly, the gas line can fill up with suit. Your clogged orifice could recur if the line is not cleaned as well. I have had to return to customers locations only to find an orifice I cleaned was clogged again. I then removed the pilot feed line, when I blew through is it filled my hand with black suit. It can be a messy and frustrating job to pull all this apart. You may want a professional. You must take apart the pilot assembly, remove the 1/4" aluminum tubing and the pilot generator. use 1/2" wrench for the pilot tubing and 7/16" wrench for the generator. with a lighter near the tubing opening..push the knob on the valve and see if you get about a 6 inch flame. Inside the pilot assembly in a small steel pilot orifice. (kinda looks like a small thimble). Take it out. Make sure that is clean... you can use a wire brush. That should solve your problem.

Yeah, I've got a solution. SHUT OFF YOUR GAS SUPPLY VALVE FIRST!!! If your pilot won't light or if it lights and kicks off soon then check the orifice. I've got a 30,000 BTU LP gas unit. when my pilot did light, the flame was not totally encompassing the thermocouple nipple which lies behind the sparker/igniter furthest away from the flame. It cause the thermocouple nipple to cool too much and shut off the unit. I took the unit off the wall. I undid the four screws on the back of the unit, which holds the glass front plate. Then I took apart the multi-sectioned brass piece that is attached to the gas feed line for the pilot with a 13 mm and a11mm open end wrench, or you can use a small adjustable and a set of pliers. The second brass piece, the 11mm one, from the gas feed line, is the orifice. It has a tiny little hole in the center. I stuck a pin in it and cleaned it out from some debris that had clogged it. You do not have to take off anything else but those two pieces going from the gas feed tube. I put it all back together and I'm back in business. Now if you do this and it still doesn't work, buy a new thermocouple. They're cheap. Somewhere between six and ten bucks last I looked, Honeywell makes them and they fit most gas units besides Glo-Warm. Have a nice Day. Cadge
