Bought a Braun series 3 razor (#340 wet and dry). It hardly shaves the whiskers but it really messes my skin up. ( I was using a Norelco which did a pretty good job) I think there is something wrong with the shaving head. After trying to use it for two or three weeks I switched to the old fashioned blade razor. The Braun is still laying next to the lavatory and I look at it every time I shave and wonder what I can do. Evidently there is something wrong with the shaving head and I would like to know how I can get a different head. I hate to spend close to a hundred dollars on a product that doesn't work. Thanks: Jim Shirley

You should be able to run your finger over the foil mesh on the Braun shaver to feel if there are any rough spots causing the problem you describe. If there is damage you may also be able to see it.

It could also be that the Braun shaver simply does not agree with your skin type. There are many people who are sensitive to different kinds of shaving methods. Foil shavers like Braun may not be the type of shaver for you

SOURCE: can i use shaving cream with a norelco electric

According to the Phillips website, it is NOT a waterproof shaver, therefore it is not advisable to use any liquids prior to or during shaving.

However, as a hairdresser and having experience with shaving men for many years, you can use the tried tested and true method of either shaving AFTER you get out of the shower so that your hairs on your face are softer from being in the moisture, or if you are not planning on having a shower, you can just use a hot face cloth on your face for a few minutes before you shave. This will soften the bristly hairs on your face and make it easier to shave.

I hope this helps. Please remember to rate my help. I would greatly appreciate it!

SOURCE: Head (foil and blades) used to last 10-12 months.

Six weeks? That's very peculiar. Are you certain that they are seated properly on the shaver? If there's a problem with the head and they're not fitting into place slightly off, they can end up wearing out faster.

If you've used your shaver for a number of years, your best bet is to probably step up to a newer model Braun shaver. The 7000 series was OK, but the 8000 series is much better. You can still pick up new old stock ones off "that auction site". They shave not much differently from the new 9000 series (Pulsonic). Good luck!

SOURCE: Using a Model1180X Senso Touch. I would like to

Sensotouch shavers can be used with any shaving gel or cream. It will not harm the shaver. Philips makes no recommendation as to which type is best. Just use whatever favorite brand that you have

Shaving with an electrical shaver is considered to bet wet or dry shaving?

Most electric shavers are dry, meaning that you don't need any gel or a shaving cream in order to shave although there are some unique wet electric shavers' models on the market.

Helloi bought my boyfriend a Braun electric razer series 150 for Christmas. He has not used it too many times and now it has been scratching his face. Does he need to lubricate it or is there a problem...

try giving him an aftershave balm this will sooth the itchiness I use it and it works fine also if its the first time he's using it he must get use to it as electric razors offer a closer shave when used properly than normal razors.
ps ALWAYS use electric razors on DRY skin

Is the Braun Activator8595 a good shaver for extra sensitive skin

The Braun foil shavers are well designed and I find they work well for sensitive skin if you prepare properly. Make sure you apply a hot towel to your face followed by a shaving conditioner. When applying the shaver, press lightly. Don't be afraid to go over the same areas several times to get most of the whiskers. Once you do this for about a week, your skin should begin to adapt to the sensation of electric shaving. You'll then be able to use the shaver more aggressively and get a thorough shave.

Shaved hairs fall out of shaver head

IT'S A GOOD THING THAT THE HAIR COMES OUT ITS STOPS THE CLIPPERS FROM JAMING. USE A GARBAGE BAG AND POKE A HOLE BIG ENOUGH FOR YOUR HEAD. PUT THE GARBAGE BAG OVER YOUR SHOULDERS AND TRIM AWAY. THAT WILL HELP IT FROM GETTING OVER YOUR CLOTHES. IF YOU HAVE A GARAGE PUT A MIRROR IN THERE AND YOU CAN SWEEP UP THE HAIR OFF THE FLOOR EASIER THAN IN THE HOUSE.
