You should be able to run your finger over the foil mesh on the Braun shaver to feel if there are any rough spots causing the problem you describe. If there is damage you may also be able to see it.
It could also be that the Braun shaver simply does not agree with your skin type. There are many people who are sensitive to different kinds of shaving methods. Foil shavers like Braun may not be the type of shaver for you
SOURCE: can i use shaving cream with a norelco electric
According to the Phillips website, it is NOT a waterproof shaver, therefore it is not advisable to use any liquids prior to or during shaving.
However, as a hairdresser and having experience with shaving men for many years, you can use the tried tested and true method of either shaving AFTER you get out of the shower so that your hairs on your face are softer from being in the moisture, or if you are not planning on having a shower, you can just use a hot face cloth on your face for a few minutes before you shave. This will soften the bristly hairs on your face and make it easier to shave.
I hope this helps. Please remember to rate my help. I would greatly appreciate it!
SOURCE: Head (foil and blades) used to last 10-12 months.
Six weeks? That's very peculiar. Are you certain that they are seated properly on the shaver? If there's a problem with the head and they're not fitting into place slightly off, they can end up wearing out faster.
If you've used your shaver for a number of years, your best bet is to probably step up to a newer model Braun shaver. The 7000 series was OK, but the 8000 series is much better. You can still pick up new old stock ones off "that auction site". They shave not much differently from the new 9000 series (Pulsonic). Good luck!

Sensotouch shavers can be used with any shaving gel or cream. It will not harm the shaver. Philips makes no recommendation as to which type is best. Just use whatever favorite brand that you have
Testimonial: "The answer was almost instant and Helped me make sure I could use any one. Thank You"
Most electric shavers are dry, meaning that you don't need
any gel or a shaving cream in order to shave although there are some unique wet
electric shavers' models on the market.
