See to it that your Wireless LAN is installed in your LAPTOP correctly, at this point if your LAPTOP have Wireless LAN and not installed properly cannot connect to the network & even your network icons does not appear, its useless. Go to your Control Panel and and select icon SYSTEM then go to DEVICE MANAGER, you can see their your WIRELESS LAN device is working properly and if not install it using your Utility Disc of your LAPTOP, hope this might help you, good luck!
Typically, this means your wifi card is toast, however there are a few things we can try first. Is the light turning on to show that you Wifi connection is on? If it isnt, then make sure whatever switch or knob is set correctly. If this doesnt work then you can reinstall the drivers, but since it isn't even showing up then I doubt this will work. Even if the drivers are not installed, usually windows will at least see there is something there.
