My wifi isnt working how do i turn it on and off

Contact your service provider and have them check your modem to see if your phone is receiving the wifi signal.Make sure you are
not out of range of your wifi signal.

Switch to 2.4ghz you may be using 5ghz which isnt compatible - Virgin media superhubs are notorious for this.

this is a common fault on these phone you can get them repaired but it will cost you a lot of money to repair it

make shure that the wifi you are conecting to,isnt just a wireless router thats turned on..lol..like not hooked to the internet

Goto wifi settings of your Sony Ericsson X8 Android Mobile
press menu button and select "Advanced"
Disable the "Use Static IP" (please be confirmed that DHCP server runs on your router)

1. TURN IT OFF
2. TURN IT OVER
3. LOOK FOR THE SMALL SQUARE DOOR(USE PROPER TOOLS ECT NO BUTTER KNIVES OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT)
4. UNSCREW SCREWS
5. THERE SHOULD BE A CHIP INSIDE WITH 2 SMALL WIRE ATTACHED, IF NOT THERE'S NO WIFI NEED TO PURCHASE A WIFI CHIP

It is a broadcom wifi. When you boot your computer up, does it say anything about HP wireless assistant? Also, are you running XP or vista?

if the internet connection isnt strong it will not work for me so get closer.

See to it that your Wireless LAN is installed in your LAPTOP correctly, at this point if your LAPTOP have Wireless LAN and not installed properly cannot connect to the network & even your network icons does not appear, its useless.
Go to your Control Panel and and select icon SYSTEM then go to DEVICE MANAGER, you can see their your WIRELESS LAN device is working properly and if not install it using your Utility Disc of your LAPTOP, hope this might help you, good luck!

Typically, this means your wifi card is toast, however there are a few things we can try first. Is the light turning on to show that you Wifi connection is on? If it isnt, then make sure whatever switch or knob is set correctly. If this doesnt work then you can reinstall the drivers, but since it isn't even showing up then I doubt this will work. Even if the drivers are not installed, usually windows will at least see there is something there.
