Set-up won't recognize that the USB cable is connected to both printer and computer and therefore printer won't work. What's up with that??

1. Confirm the USB port on the computer you are connecting your printer to is being recognized by your computer. The easiest way to do this would be to plug a known good USB Memory stick into the USB port you want to use. If you can read the contents of the USB Memory stick then the port should work. Remove the Memory stick, start the printer installation program (Make sure you don't the printer connected), want until the setup program tells you to connect the printer before you attach the Printer's USB cable.
If the printer isn't recognized try a different USB port, when picking a new USB port to try select a higher priority port, for example in increasing priority from, an external USB hub, a powered external hub, a monitor based hub, USB ports on the front of the computer, up to the USB ports at the computer rear. For USB ports on the same circuit select an USB 2.0 before an USB 3.0 port

Sony walkman nwz-b135 when i connect it to my laptop it will add music etc, but will not charge thanx

Hi,

I'm sorry to know that the Walkman player is not getting charged. I'll be glad to assist you with this. Please perform the following steps:
If the New Hardware Wizard appears and is prompting for a location of the driver, point to the following directory: C:/WINDOWS/INF .
To function properly, your Walkman player must be recognized by your computer as a Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) device. If the portable player was connected to the computer before the Windows Media Player version 10 or later was installed, it will be recognized as a Mass Storage Class (MSC) device and not function properly. In that case, a different procedure is available to correct this issue.
For some models, when you use the portable player for the first time, if you have not used it for a long time, or the battery is depleted, it may take up to 5 minutes for it to be recognized or start charging. On models with a display, the display will remain blank. If it the portable player is not recognized or does not begin to charge after waiting 5 minutes, reset the player by pressing the reset button.
If this is not the first time using your player and it was working properly at one time with no major changes performed (such as restoring the operating system or replacing a hard drive), follow the procedure below:
Connect the portable player to the computer using the supplied USB cable.
Disconnect the USB cable from the portable player and then reconnect.
Check the connection status again.
Disconnect the USB cable from the computer and then reconnect.
Check the connection status again.
Check for available space on the player using Windows Media Player or My Computer .
Restart the computer.
Check the connection status again.
Check that the USB cable is firmly connected to both the computer and the player.
Check the connection status again.
If the player is connected to a USB hub, disconnect it and connect it directly to the computer with a dedicated USB cable.
Check the connection status again.
If the player is still not recognized by the computer, disconnect all devices connected to the computer with a USB connection and restart the computer.
After the computer restarts, connect only the Walkman player and test the connection again.
If the player is still not recognized by the computer, try a different USB port.
Check the connection status again.
Under the Common settings menu of the player, format the player using the built-in Format utility.
Check the connection status again.
Verify the current Operating System. If it is an upgraded operating system, contact the computer manufacturer for updated drivers for their upgraded operating system.
If you are running the Windows XP operating system, be sure you are running Service Pack 2 (SP2) or later.
If you did not have the latest service pack, test the connection status again after it has been installed.
If you are still unable to transfer music to your player and have not yet uninstalled and reinstalled the driver follow the procedure to confirm that the player is recognized by the computer as an MTP device.

Thanks for contacting FixYa.

Hi,

Please make sure that the Computer is recognizing the Walkman when connected to the USB port.

On models with a display, the display will remain blank. If it the portable player is not recognized or does not begin to charge after waiting 5 minutes, reset the player by pressing the reset button.

Disconnect the USB cable from the computer and then reconnect.

Check the connection status again.

Check for available space on the player using Windows Media Player or My Computer.

If the player is still not charged by the computer, try a different USB port.

Every time i plug in my sony camera to the usb port to upload my pictures, my camera will say " usb mode. connecting to mass storage" then that will go away after a few seconds and then it...

Hi,

The "USB mode" and "Connecting to Mass Storage" message will get displayed when the Camera is connected to the Computer and is recognized by the Computer as a Mass Storage device. This is not an error message and is a normal operation.
You can change the Mass Storage settings in the Camera (depends on the model) The USB Select or USB Connect option in the Camera can be changed to PTP, Mass Storage or PictBridge mode. Set the option in the Camera to PTP and connect it to the Computer and check if the Computer is recognizing the connection. Once the computer is recognized, it appear as a removable Drive.
You can transfer the images from the Camera to the Computer from the Removable Drive by copying and pasting.

My computer doesn't recognise my sansa 260.

Sansa Not Recognized: Try connecting it to another computer the back straight to the motherboard ths should be USB 2.0 and see if it will recognize it as sansa or Drive/removable drive. if it does then download the sansa update software and install it. Make sure you disconnect the sansa and connect it when asked. This will update your sansas firmware and add the Usb Mode. Try to connect it to your computer at home it should recognize.... link for update software (http://mp3support.sandisk.com/sansa/Installer/1082/SansaUpdaterInstall.exe) download to a flash drive much easier. Make sure USB mode is MSC
Recovery Mode may also allow your computer to recognize the sansa
lock your sansa hold in the rec key on the left at the same time push the menu/power button this will take you to recovery mode then connect to the computer Start the update software when finished disconnect

My adaptor is not recognized in my USB ports I installed the router and it completes all of its connection checks. I am trying to install the adaptor on a remote computer (in the basement) and that...

Here's what you can do since this is a USB wireless adapter, first connect the USB adapter on a different USB port on the computer better if you connect it on the back USB port of the computer tower and check if the computer will recognize it and if its recognize you can already continue with the software installation , but if not you can restart first the computer and check if the adapter will be recognized if still not the next thing to do here just to know if the adapter is good or bad is to connect it on a different computer and just to check if it will be recognized once its connected to a USB port , because a device should be automatically will be recognized by a computer once you connect it so if its still not recognized by a different computer adapter is bad...

Printer USB Cable un recognized DCP150C

You need to isolate the problem. You tried using multiple cables and reinstalled the printer driver several times, but you never mentioned that you tried connecting the printer into another computer. What if the problem is the USB port of the computer and not the printer cable?

Try connecting and installing the problem printer into different computer for testing purpose only. If it work, then the problem is the USB port of the computer. To fix this, try updating the USB driver of your computer.

If same problem occurs using another computer, then you need to contact the manufacturer of your printer. I've heard this problem before and I don't have an update if there's a fix with it.

Have a great day!

USB DEvice not recognized

I had a problem like this -- tried plugging the camera in to the rear USB slots not the front ones and it worked fine.

I think that it doesn't like going via a USB hub, but wants a direct connection. All of the USB ports on my computer are connected direct to the motherboard (i.e. none are on PCI cards or anything), but looking at the hardware info for the computer, it looks like the motherboard has a few "direct" USB connections, and then an on-board hub which the front ports connect to. If your computers are the same, that would explain things. I'd suggest trying each USB port one at a time (turn the camera off before plugging in, and back on when in) and see if one of them works. Wouldn't hurt to power the camera from the mains at the time too.
