Why does my Seiki DVD player say incompatible region?

It's possible that the DVD you are trying to play was manufactured for a different region than the one your DVD player is set to. DVD players are designed to play DVDs that are encoded for a specific region or regions. For example, a DVD player that is set to Region 1 will only play DVDs that are encoded for Region 1.
You can check the region code of your DVD player by looking at the back of the player or consulting the user manual. You can also check the region code of the DVD you are trying to play by looking at the back of the DVD case or consulting the information that came with the DVD.
If the region code of your DVD player does not match the region code of the DVD you are trying to play, you will see an error message like the one you described. One solution is to try setting your DVD player to a different region and trying to play the DVD again. However, keep in mind that most DVD players can only be set to a particular region a limited number of times, and once the limit has been reached, the region code can no longer be changed.
It's also worth noting that some DVDs are encoded for multiple regions and will play on any DVD player, regardless of the region code. If you have a DVD that is encoded for multiple regions and it is not playing on your DVD player, there may be another issue at play.

Cant play a region 1 dvd

The DVD and *and* the DVD player both have a region code embedded in each. A map of the regions used appears below:

steve_con_2.gif

Regions 0, 7, 8 & 9 do not appear as they represent "No Region Coding" "Unused" "Cruise Lines" and "Region Free" respectively.

A DVD player will only play a matching region code DVD, or the player OR DVD have one (or more) 0, 7, 8, or 9 region codes imbedded. You'll not be able to change the DVD code, but you *might* be able to change the region code of your player. Computer DVD players can sometimes be flashed to a new region more readily than the entertainment system DVD players, but it relies solely on the manufacturer and model of the player. Some require file be downloaded and run, while others require a DVD or CD be created and played with a specific file saved on it. Here's a link to results that discuss how to change the region code for DVD players. You'll need to know at the very least the manufacturer and model number of you player to begin.

I hope this helps and good luck! If you found this helpful, please rate my reply 4 "thumbs up". Thanks!

Trying to play dvd but says wrong region soneynhv-dx350ab?

Hi, if its saying wrong region. then either your player or disk is incompatable. region 1 ntsc ( USA ) Region 2 ( UK ) et,c. check your players region coding is compatable for your country, and that you are also playing a dvd with the same region coding as the player. alternatively is to try and find a region free or multi-region solution. PANASONIC DVD RECORDER DMR-ES35V

DVDs are region coded. This means that they will only play on a DVD player from the region the DVD was produced to be watched in. For example, an Australian DVD is Region 4. It will only play on a Region 4 player. If you try to play it on a player that is set for a different region, it will probably not play. One way around this is to get hold of a multi region player. These are widely available. Alternatively, you should be able to watch the DVD on your computer, although you may need some region free software if your computer's dvd player has been locked. Usually computer DVD players will allow you to play DVDs from any region a few times and then they will lock to a particular Region Code. If you are in North America, you will need a PAL player. The only other thing you may be able to do is to unlock your existing player to convert it to region free. Many DVD players can be unlocked but you would need to find the unlock information for your paticular player. Hope this helps....
