Panasonic PT-53WXD63G Flyback, H.O.T., and Triper

I was advised to replace the flyback to resolve my problem. I am wandering if the flyback, HOT, and the triper are all in one unit on the Panasonic PT53WVD63G. If not, what does the HOT look like? When I replace the flyback on this unit, do I splice the two wires connecting to the flyback or there to way to disconnect from the flyback? The thicker red/orange wire HV connects from the flyback to a collector which has all the thicker red wires coming from the CRTs. Does the red wire to the flyback disconnect from the flyback or collector? Does the thinner wire from the flyback disconnect?

The small wires are disconnected at the focus and screen control block, and the large HV cable is disconnected from the HV splitter.you may have to reuse the large red wire if the new flyback doesnt have the HV lead attached. The Hot is the horizontal output transistor its mounted to a aluminum heat sink near the flyback.

Panasonic pt-47wx53g horizontal outout transitor short whit new transistor flyback voltage are all to low the tv does notlight up the crt

Hello oncle_jc,

You may have a problem with your flyback transformer, I would suggest that you perform a ring test to see if any of your windings on the flyback are shorted. In addition You may want to also check the input to the Horizontal Output Transistor, to see if the driver pulses are of the proper amplitude. Besides these two things the only other issue colud the the high voltage trippler (if this is not part of the flyback). Check these things, you will need the following equipment:

1) oscilloscope

2) voltmeter (multimeter set to DC volts)

3) High Voltage probe

4) A test set that can perform a ring test (My shop uses the Sencore LC102)

Or what you can do is take the flyback out and take it to a TV shop and for a small fee they can run the test for you, (My shop usually charges $20.00 - $30.00 for this

I hope this helps

R517 Burnt D" board

you will need the flyback as thats way to low. The HV splitter will only direct the HV to each of the CRTs it doesnt change or regulate the HV in any way just directs (splits) it. Let me know if you need any more assistance.

I replaced the bad capacitor and now!?

Are you sure the flyback was clicking? Usually it arc's inside or externally to metal chassis. There is a relay that clicks on & off , which could be what you are hearing. Your bad cap, is it in the power supply or near the flyback? A regulator is more of a possibility than the flyback.
