BSOD AFTER CLEAN INSTALL 2X

Since you are getting the same result from the same actions I would say that you should change the hard drive. It may be defective.

Inspiron 1000 doesn't save cmos settings

Hi

As you said that you haven't used the computer for long time then it could be the motherboard which has gone faulty not the HDD or DVD.
Try to use the new HDD with this old motherboard.
Or else you can seek help of Any Geek Squad or computer vendor.

In case if you have any more trouble do contact back in Fixya.
Thank you

Dell inspiron 1545 Laptop computer is getting BSOD on boot, when first ran diagnostics got error: Hard Drive - DST Test Results - Fail Error Code 2000-0142 Msg Hard Drive 0 - self test unsuccessful status...

The error indicates that there's a hard drive issue. If it just happened after the hard disk is reinstalled, remove it and reinstall it. It could be a problem caused by loose connection or improper connections. If the same problem repeats, install the hard drive on another system (to verify whether it works on another machine or not and to confirm it still works). If it doesn't work on another computer/system then your only option to run the system is replacing the hard disk. If it works on another computer or if it's detected on another system, then there could be problem with the hard disk, eg. Corrupt Partition, Windows Corrupt etc....
First of all, try booting into Safe Mode. You have to press F8 during the startup to go into Advanced Boot Options. Once you are in the Windows Advanced Boot Options, select Safe Mode using the up and down arrow keys on your keyboard. If it still doesn't work, it's the hard disk issue. Try with another Hard Disk.
But if in case you can boot into safe mode, check the Hard Disk for errors. In other words, run Windows Checkdisk utility. Hope this helps.
Let me know if you need further help.
Good Luck.

When i am trying to instaling win xp .getting a error message like stop 0x00000007B in a blue screen

hello Shameeralipk,

The most popular Blue Screen of Death error in Windows is the STOP 0x0000007B error, sometimes called the 0x7b error or the "INACCESSIBLE BOOT DEVICE" BSOD.

This BSOD (which is actually the common name for a STOP Error) could mean that there's a serious hardware problem with a hard drive controller, a driver issue, or even a boot sector virus.

thansk.

I own a dell optilex gx50 with original windows xp, seagate st320014a 20 gigabyte hard drive which might having a possible virus issue because i get a bsod that has the following. *** STOP: 0x0000007B...

Just because you get a BSOD message does not mean you have a virus. Granted if you have a virus this can cause problems with your system files which cause a BSOD.

The easiest way to clean your system would be to go to this link and run a scan on your computer.

http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

However this still may not fix the BSOD issue. If you keep getting it please reply with the error message that is in the BSOD. The link below will show you what is needed if you are not sure. With the error message and stop code i can tell you where the problem is.

My Dell Inspiron 6000 won't boot up. It keeps

Hi:
The DST error code 1000-1046 is definitely a failing hard drive. ..I am not sure why your laptop is not recognizing a CD in the drive, but you should go into your BIOS settings, and in boot sequence, make sure that the CD drive is the first boot device. If you can't boot from a CD, you are not going to get very far with installing a new hard drive...

Initially a gateway pentium 4 with XP got a boot sequence failure with BSOD 0x000024a. left it plugged in for a couple of hours, now the boot sequence fails with a BSOD 0x000021. What next?

STOP error 0x24 means a problem occurred in ntfs.sys, the driver file that allows the system to read and write to NTFS drives. STOP code 0x00000024 may also display "NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM" on the same STOP message.

Seems your hard drive is experiencing problems causing this error to occur.
