SOURCE: digital betacam tape stuck in Sony UVW-1800 deck

Digital tapes should still eject normally (they are the same size and shape) which indicates that it has jammed somewhere inside.
If you want to fix it yourself you will have to remove the cover and check the tape.
If the cassette hasn't spooled up and all the tape is inside the cassette you should be able to unscrew the carriage (the cradle that takes the tape in and down) and remove it that way.

If the tape has spooled around the heads there is a cog (can't remember the exact position of it) arranged vertically near the side of the machine that you can manually wind the spooling arms back into the cassette.

Good luck

SOURCE: Sony Beta sp deck 1800 wont take larger tape down

Most likely problem when a Beta SP deck won't take the large tapes is a bad cable in the cassette housing. Replacement isn't too difficult, and the cable only costs about $20.00.

How do I clear a paper jam in a Samsung ML-2510. I turned printer off & on again. It goes through the motions of clearing, but no paper comes out. But when I print the paper folds up like something...

have you made sure that there is NO PAPER stuck in the paper path? even a small piece of paper can cause your problem. Also, there a re a number of sensors in the paper path of which one might have gotten stuck. A sensor is a small lever like gadget that is pressed down when paper moves over it. If it remained in the down position for some reason (like removing stuck paper) it will keep on giving the paper jam error

Printer is saying paper jam and I have cleared out all paper and clippings that were stuck how can I get it to stop saying paper jam?

Happend twice to me. What sometimes happens is that the paper roll was not changed at the time the ink was. Therefore the paper roll was allowed to remain in the printer until the very last sheet. On the last sheet there is a sticker that says paper out. (stupid idea) This sticker makes the last sheet of paper too thick to fit through the last paper guide / feed. Because of this, the ink film breaks and that specific error message is displayed until that last piece of 4x6 is pulled from the inside top paper feed. Clear that out, and all is good.. Change the paper every time u change the ink. Even if its not finished. They give you extra. And clear out all the paper from the cutter traay before you move the printer.
You must open up the front where the roll goes. Lay the printer back, and look up top where the paper ejects. you should see some of the paper in the feed. Pull that out with a tweezers.

Beware. I sent my printer to Sony and they tried to get me for a new cutter and thermal head. Close to $500. I then realized the problem because it happened on another unit I own. I told them to ship it back unrepaired and I fixed it myself.
Hope this helps

Paper jam error message..no jam

Hello There this may work for you, it has worked for many here I given this advice so gave it a try it could work for you. Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there.

And gave the rode that the ink slides on a good clean and maybe a bit oil on cloth and wipe the rod with it.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

Tape stuck in sony uvw-1800

02-874 error code signifies a defective takeup reel. The reel is not winding the tape in, so the deck won't go through the eject procedure. Check the connection to the takeup reel motor; if that's OK, the motor itself may be bad. Rarely, the takeup reel motor assembly will need to be replaced; usually it's a connection problem.

I just found this post on another site :
tsvservice- 29th Jun 2007 14:0109-221 is "failure to complete threading within the specified time". in plain talk, the mechanism in the deck that threads the tape around the heads is not working. this could be a bad motor, bad gear, or even a bad tape.

If it still works the capacitors on board attached to the display are going bad. Replace any that have corrosion on the solder joints and clean up the corrosion while your at it. If it quit working altogether there is also a fuse or ICP on that board that typically blows too.
