Why don't you just print the data on the one side of the page and then simply turn the page over and reinsert it into the paper feeder and then print the next bit of data, therfore you end up with both sides of the page printed without worrying about printer commands that seem to fail.

Duplex copying on xerox phaser 3300mfp

I have the same problem and was told by the telephone helpdesk that the machine cannot copy double-sided to double-side. The duplexing referred to is copying 2 single-sided documents onto one single sheet on both sides....Like whoever does that! This is misleading on Xerox's part . Colin B.

My scanner just started smearing the first page of a duplex to pdf but when I scan just front of document it doesn't smear it

Hi

Your question is not clear.

Sometimes using technical jargon makes it harder for people to understand each other (this applies to both askers and answerers).

I always advise askers to use normal language as much as possible and answerers to do the same and where jargon is unavoidable, to explain as they go along.

Please post again to clarify what you mean by "..a duplex to pdf..", in normal language not in technical jargon.

A PDF is not a real, physical document. It is a digital document on a computer or a webpage created in PDF format.

A Duplex document is a real document, printed on both sides of each sheet of paper.

If you are trying to scan a multiple page Duplex Document using the Sheet Feeder of your scanner, the ink on the reverse side may be getting caught up in, affecting and/or staining one of the rollers in the Sheet Feeder.

The bottom roller in most non-industrial Scanner Sheet Feeders expects to touch only the plain reverse side of a sheet of paper as it is passed through and turned over to rest on the Platten (scanning surface) of the scanner ready to be scanned.

Multifunction printers with built in scanners and sheet feeders and duplex printing capability are designed in a way that makes them more forgiving of dealing with duplex printed paper.

Duplex printing printed in a laser printer is less likely to cause a problem as long as it is allowed to dry thoroughly. Inkjet printing that is allowed to drry thoroughly should also be okay.

If the scanning is being attempted very soon after printing, then the wetness of the printing may be the problem.

Sheet Feeders that handle duplex printed sheets invariably become stained and need periodic cleaning.

If the document is not too long, you may have to scan it manually, page-by-page.

If the document exists as a PDF somewhere on your computer or on the internet, then it is unclear why you would need to scan it. This is why your question is puzzling.

Post a further comment, if this answer does not help you solve the problem.

I hope this helps.

We have a new hp lasterjet 4015n. It will print two sided, but it won't flip up the back side. I have my driver set to duplex print and flip up, but it won't flip up. Is there some setting on the...

I assume that you attached the two-sided printing accessory (duplexer) to your product:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01909142&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en#N428

The duplexing has to be set in the printer's
Printing submenu

DUPLEX OFF/ON

This item appears only when an optional duplexer is installed. Set

the value to ON to print on both sides (duplex) or OFF to print on

one side (simplex) of a sheet of paper.
The default setting is OFF.

Print on both sides (Duplex) Click Print on both sides. If you will bind the document along
the top edge, click Flip pages up.

How to set a MG5220 printer to do 2-sided copies?

The Canon MG5220 has a built-in auto duplexer and can print 2-sided documents. On a Mac, click print, and in the print dialog box select Duplex Printing & Margins (drop down options below Printer and Presets). Check the Duplex Priting box, and selected the Stapling side. Then click Print. That's it!!

Cannot duplex print pdf files. No problem for over 2 years until now. Word docs OK have tried changing printing settings and default but problem persists. Advice would be really appreciated. Thanks

Printing PDF files without special software can be a problem, if you print a lot of files of different formats and need to deal with a few printers.

Total PDF Printer from Coolutils is a program features a lot of printing modes and adjustable parameters that will help to optimize the process of printing PDF files. To save the paper, it offers ability to print PDF files in duplex mode, i.e. print PDF pages from both sides of paper sheet.

You do not need to turn each sheet by your hands, as the program changes printer settings so that this process is automated.

Total PDF Printer is a perfect suit for personal or professional use for printing PDF files. It automatically connects to all printers enabled in the system and redirects printing tasks to the trays you specify.

Hello
See if you have selected weight paper from the tray in the duplex mode.
Weight paper is selected in duplex mode only from the bypass.
So you check that the paper in the tray 1 or tray 2 must be plain paper and in duplex mode it can print normally.

Canon MP610 Printer When automatic duplex printing in landscape orientation, the reverse side is printed upside down. Duplex Printing in portrait mode works fine. Can you help?

I haven't found a way to do this using the printer settings.

There is no (apparent) simple solution, but needing tp print a 56 page pdf form the only solution was to load the pdf into Adobe Acrobat and then in the 'document' pull down menu select 'rotate pages', then select '180 degrees' and also 'rotate even pages only'. This then prints OK.

The down side is that you need full Adobe Acrobat rather than just the reader.

I have been unable to rotate pages through 180 degrees in MS Word but it is possible using MS Publisher.
