E8050 does not exist in the Krups info I have, EA8050 does though. You need to remove the tamping piston and unhook all the wires from off the PCB on the side. Then the boiler assembly is attached to the base with 3 screws. This will allow you to tip the boiler over enough to get access to the screw up through the bottom that holds that plastic flange thing on the bottom of the ejection rod while you at the same time have another screwdriver in the screw from the top into the only screw that you see inside the boiler. One of the screws will come undone, it doesn't matter which one. That will allow you to remove the shaft that the seal you are trying to replace fits around. It is called a Barista seal part number MS5015004

SOURCE: hi, I need a 'joint
The part for your XP4000 is the brew head seal. A Google search turned them up here:
http://www.smallappliance.com/product.asp?cur=USD&cam=krups_parts&sid=18954&gid=18960&mid=15&pid=2870&prdCls=P&shopBy=Brand
This page is their Krups model list:

It doesn't show the XP962 but it gives their phone number and says to call if you don't see what you need. So maybe they can help.
In general, when you want to search for something on the Internet, start with a good search engine (I use Google but there are others of course) and give a search string like "krupps kp40000 parts". Then you can check out the links it gives you until you find what you need.
SOURCE: Error Code 9 on a Krups XP7240 Expresso machine
After I changed piston sealing I get the same error 09. It was caused by missing connection to the thermoblock temperature sensor. In my case both connectors for thermocouple were cracked. They are located directly on the body of thermoblock, below two fuses, covered by rubber housing. After I solder them again on the position error 09 disappeared. Unfortunately it is necessary to open at least front panel of the machine. Moreover I tink that there is also important to save polarity of those two cables.

I had the same problem. The issue was that the machine needed a clean to dissolve Calcium build up from the water. I used a commercial cleaner available at my local supermarket but have since used white vinegar and get just as good results. I just put about a cup of white vinegard in the water haopper and run the machine without the group attatched. I run the steamer wand and then put another cup through with the group attatched . I then rinse a few times with fresh bottled or distilled water.
