Monitor Barely readable and dark but display is...

The monitor powers up, and displays desktop correctly but is barely readable and very dark.

Thanks. I suspected as much. I will just use it on the maintenance bench. ldent

I have this viewsonic VE710b monitor, it does turn on but the image is to dark, like it needed adjustment in brightness, what coulb be the problem?

backlight is shot, sad but its cheaper to buy a new one
