Yes, there is a button, up by the function buttons, that says "print screen". I've tried pressing just that button; pressing that button and the alt button together; and pressing the "Mode F" button and the print screen button together, but nothing seems to work

Cant get print screen to work by pressing print screen button

Pressing the print screen button does not actually print the screen to the printer. It copies it. Open WORD or PAINT and "paste" it. You can then actually print it

I need to replace the lid switch in my gateway 7510 GX or else simply disable it. I removed the button that gets pressed but seems the circuit is already messed up, and I need to mess with it every time I...

Try this, go to Control Panel, open "Power Options" and on the left pane, click "when I close the lid...." or similar options for Lid and and choose "Do nothing" on both the options available on "Close Lid" menu. Save the settings and try whether this helps or not.
(you can go to the power options by right-clicking the desktop, select "Properties" then to "Screen Save" [XP] or to "Power" tab.)
Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Print screen doesn´t work

If the print screen button doesn't work, try to use Alt + Print Screen. If that doesn't work either, then try to re-install the software that came with your keyboard (if there is).

However, for most multi-media keyboards and mice, the CD that comes with them usually made to program the special buttons only. But I'm not sure in your case. There could be an option for you to re-program the buttons on your end, including the Print Screen button.

But if there's no way to re-program it and the Alt + Print Screen didn't help, then you may want to send the keyboard to the reseller or manufacturer for repair. It's a hardware defect.

Thank you and good luck!

C5180 printer won't print.

I just had this problem and here's what I did (with a little help from a previous yahoo answers post)...

1. Turn printer and computer off
2. Disconnect printer from computer
3. Unplug printer completely
4. Hold power button on printer while plugging printer back into power source. Maintain holding power button in until printer cycles completely (Ihave no idea if hold it actually does anything...but I tried it and it worked)
5. Turn printer back off (which actually may happen anyway when you finally release the power button)
6. Reconnect printer back to power source and computer.
7. Power both back up.

That should do it hopefully. Also make sure your printer cartridges aren't totally out. It won't let you print if even one of them is completely empty.

Good luck.
