DeLonghi 6507L Oil Filled Radiator Heater Logo
Anonymous Posted on Feb 11, 2011

My dog knocked something heavy onto my heater and broke two of the wheels. I need to know what material the wheels are made of (what type of plastic) so I can try to fix them. I think they can be glued back on. It is actually the legs that the wheels snap onto that she broke (in addition to eating a screen door and part of a basement wooden wall).

Lervia sewng machine. material wont feed through. Dogs are up but material just wont move through. needle moving freely.

Hm, could be several things. If stitches are not being formed, it could be a timing issue (the needle does not arrive at the bobbin at the correct time). Did the machine recently hit a pin or something hard? That will knock a machine out of time. There could also be a broken piece stuck that is preventing the feed dogs from operating. Thoroughly clean the machine around the bobbin area and feed dogs.

How do I raise the feed dogs

Make sure that your top and bobbin thread are the same and that the tension is set correctly. Then, be sure that the bobbin is put in correctly. If this happens when you are starting on an edge of your material, try putting a piece of material or even a piece of paper, like typing paper, under the edge of the material and sew a little beyond that and then onto your material. You can tear it off later. It gives stability to the edge of the material and should alleviate the problem. I hate when that happens! And, last but not least, be sure you are using the right needle. I love the ballpoint needles for most sewing projects.

Why is the Material not moving smoothly. Have to pull it

Try setting the stitch length to a longer stitch. Increasing the stitch length should move the material faster. Also, make sure that the presser foot pressure is not to heavy. This shows up sometimes when you change fabric thicknesses (denim vs lightweight sheer) and the machine has difficulty moving the fabric. Try stitching on different fabric and see if it makes a difference. Also, if the material you are stitching is somewhat sticky, it will stick to the bottom of the presser foot (this is common when sewing vinyl, leather, etc.) If that is the case, you may want to check into getting a leather roller foot (it has wheels built into the presser foot that will turn as the fabric is pulled through by the feed dogs).

In a painic... have a wedding in a few hours ... dog knocked over flute and now just squeeling... cant find what got knocked out of alignment

Probably something bent near the hole you blow over. A flute is a very simple resonant device so there is very little to get out of alignment. Some versions have stops that may be adjustable... There are so many types.

Look for any distortion of material near the place you blow over as that is the prime area the sound is formed.

Look for any cracks. Anything that destroys the cavity that resonates would be the places to look.

It got knocked over by the dog and now will not turn on.

I am not familiar with this make. However, all electcric heaters have a tip over safety switch on them somewhere. You will have to find it . I would look on the bottom for a plunger type switch, though it may be inside. I would expect that if it is otherwise undamaged, the switch should reset automatically. You may need to replace the switch if it is damaged.

Warning ... do not try to go around this safety device.

Heavy material feed dog

To the very best of my knowledge (and I've been full time as a manager / owner in my family sewing machine sales / service business for almost 30 years (with many more part-time before that), I know of no "heavy material" feed dog that has been available for the Pfaff 130. Please keep in mind that the 130, while pretty heavy duty (especially compared to many of today's machines), was never manufactured or intended to be heavy duty in the sense of sewing heavy items such as uphaolstery fabrics (canvas, nagahide, etc.). It was produced with the intent of being a reliable household (non-commercial / industrial) machine with the purpose of sewing light-to-moderate heavy metrails. What exactaly are you trying to sew that leads you to the request of using "heavy material" feed dogs or that you feel Pfaff produced / manufactured such an item?

Best regards,

Dave
