All you need is just to turn the paper upside down. This printer requires the paper with the glossy face down.

AFter we tried everything, the paper we bought was apparently not quality controlled and mixed with different weights of paper that caused the error. We purchased another brand and have had no problems so far...

I had the same cr@p of the problem yesterday. The problem was not inthe paper. You have to do 2 simple things, from which one will solvethe problem.
first, download the latest drivers and install them.
And the more important thing, the problem occurred due to incorrectpaper format. Solution is very simple. Open MS word or somethingsimilar, file->print.. and before you print open Properties menu. There for the Output Size will be selected "Match Page Size". you don'twant that (i don't know why it doesn't work), but the solution ismanually select A4, or whatever your page size is.
And there it is... printer starts throwing pages out like crazy :)))

SOURCE: "paper-feed error"

Had the same problem with mine, very intermittent. Remove all the paper and open the feed tray lid so you can get access to the three grey pinch rollers. Start printing then push on the roller with your finger to try and 'rough it up' (if it clicks you are pressing too hard).

The fault appears to be that the pinch rollers are loosing their grip and can not pull the glossy paper through. I dare say using a mild washing up liquid solution would be better but this is a safe quick fix.

Did this to mine and it has worked fine ever since.

SOURCE: The specified ink cassette cannot be found.

I have to ask this question of you, just to make sure this is not an issue. Are you using a factory new ink or toner cartridge?
Please consider the following:
If you are using a refilled or third party cartridges that may well be your problem. Most manufacturers build logic into their products to prevent the use of “Other Equipment Manufactured” cartridges as well as re-filled cartridges.
They do this to prevent problems from contaminated inks or toner causing problems with print quality or damaging the physical printhead or photo conductors.
If you are using factory new ink or toner cartridges, then please call the manufacturer’s Technical Support for assistance with the warranty on the cartridges

MG5765 printer. What does error code c1003 indicate?

The canon printer error code 1003 appears when you have No paper in cassette / paper not loaded properly in the cassette.

Try this to correct the problem:

    1.Close the paper output tray.
2.Pull the paper feeder tray out.
3.Insert a stack of paper until the top edge touches the far end of the feeder.
4.After loading the paper, push the feeder so that the arrow mark on the front tray aligns with the arrow mark mark on the printer.
5.Open the paper output tray, then press the OK button on the printer.

Automatic Print Head alignment failed
Possible causes are as follows:
6128_image_6.gif A4 or Letter-sized paper is not loaded on the Auto Sheet Feeder.
Press the RESUME/CANCEL button on the printer to clear the error, then load one sheet of A4 or Letter-sized paper in the Auto Sheet Feeder.
Automatic print head alignment cannot be performed using paper from the Cassette. For automatic print head alignment, always load paper in the Auto Sheet Feeder.

6128_image_6.gif Print Head nozzles are clogged.
Press the RESUME/CANCEL button on the printer to clear the error, and then print out the nozzle check pattern to examine the print head condition.

For information on how to print a nozzle check pattern, see "Printing the Nozzle Check Pattern."

6128_image_6.gif The Paper Output Slot has been exposed to a strong light source preventing correct Print Head alignment.
Press the RESUME/CANCEL button to clear the error and move the printer to a darker location.
After carrying out the above measures, if the problem continues after aligning the Print Head again, press the RESUME/CANCEL button to clear the error, and then perform manual print head alignment. For details on manual print head alignment, see "Manual Print Head Alignment."

Canon pixma ip4600 says it cant print bc theres not paper, but there is. i cant figure out how to print.

Many times the switch that lets the printer know it's out of paper is stuck in position, or dust has clogged it. If you can blow the small bits of paper or dust out you can get it going again. I use a can of compressed air to clean my printer about once a month to stop this from happening. It is a common problem.

Error Number : 1003 No paper. Load the paper in the cassette correctly and press the OK button on the printer. Plain paper of A4, Letter, B5, and A5 sizes will be fed from the cassette because...

Another possible reason for getting this error is a dusty printer. I don't dust very often so dust piles on everything, including my printer. My daughter wanted me to print something for her and the first page went through just fine. But the second never started and I got error 1003. I had plenty of paper loaded and my settings for the size of paper were correct. I dusted out my printer and everything else printed just fine. My theory is the top paper had dust bunnies on it that were pulled into the printer when it pulled the first page in. Maybe the dust got caught on a sensor that told the computer there wasn't any paper. Regardless of what happened, a quick cleaning fixed the problem. I just wanted to throw in my two cents for anyone out there that may have a dusty printer and run into this error.

On the Ip4300 the yellow light flashes at 10 times intervals. The printer does not responde to anything. Thanks Dave

This is from Canon's web site...

Ten flashes:The Cassette is not installed properly/Cannot perform duplex printing
  • When loading from the Cassette, install the Cassette properly and press the RESUME/CANCEL button.
  • When performing automatic duplex printing, the size of paper may not be compatible with automatic duplex printing. The sizes of media suitable for auto duplex printing are A3, Regal, 11" x 17" (Tabloid), B4, A4, Letter, 10" x 12", 8" x 10", B5, and A5". Make sure that the size of the paper loaded in the printer is correct. Pressing the RESUME/CANCEL button will eject the paper and restart printing from the front side of the next paper. The reverse side of the ejected sheet will not be printed.

Hello Brian,

I found the following on Canon's website.

Not sure if it will fix your issue but thought it might be worth a try:

Ten flashes:The Cassette is not installed properly/Cannot perform duplex printing
  • When loading from the Cassette, install the Cassette properly and press the RESUME/CANCEL button.
  • When performing automatic duplex printing, the size of paper may not be compatible with automatic duplex printing. The sizes of media suitable for auto duplex printing are A3, Regal, 11" x 17" (Tabloid), B4, A4, Letter, 10" x 12", 8" x 10", B5, and A5".
