I have the license id and the password but i cant activate it.it says i have to doit by phone or internet and the phone numbers dont exist

If you are activating Windows, and it fails the online activation, you will be given the option to call Microsoft to do an over the phone activation. Phone numbers are here, call the one for your location https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/licensing/existing-customer/activation-centers

Hi. I have found that most problems come from miss typing in the License number. The best is to copy and paste. The password should work the same way.
If this is a **** copy, 123 Copy may have blocked that set of numbers.
If the numbers are all correct, and you have the original license and password. Contact the company that makes the software.

You will have to uninstall it from your laptop first because the license key is still in use.
So it depends on how you bought the software for the old computer.
Only one one type of MS license is transferable to a new computer. It is known as a FPP license. Typically you get a FPP license by buying the Retail (big ugly ecologically insensitive, mind bending) Yellow Plastic box With the CD in it. You can also get FPP licenses electronically, but you have to ask for them specifically and pay a little more.
Other MS licenses include:
*MLK (Medialess Key) ie electronic download,
*OEM, preinstalled by manufacturer.
*PKC, Product Key Card
These licenses are typically sold at at discount from the retail price.
You have to figure out what type of license you have.
If you have a FPP license, to transfer it, you simply uninstall it from the old machine and install it on the new machine. In theory, internet activation should be automatic, but you may have to phone activation and explain to the service rep. During install and activation you are given option of doing internet or phone activation.
So without further investigation you could simply do the uninstall, install and see what happens. If you have to do the phone activation the SR will explain to you that the product key does not quality for transfer.

If you have legal copy then you can find serial number for registered it.
You can get it from disk cover or disk surface.
Then you can enter that serial number when you install software it ask for serial key so it registered.
But if you are unable to get serial key then drop an email to this software manufacturer web sites supports or login with id and password on that web sites then you can get serial key for register it without internet.

Subsequently, 321 Studios closed down and all their DVD copying software was taken off the shelves (although some retailers continued selling the remaing inventory) leaving people (who has license copy of the software) in frustrations because they can not activate and use the software. There is no way you can activate the software now because their website no longer exist.

ok you might want to add a little more background info. or if my though is right...... if you have your license id and password it should be all you need. if you paid for it and are missing something i would be e-mailing their support department to get it resolved

I've had the same problem with other products and had to contact the software provider with my email to verify my purchase and license.

The best is to Phone Microsoft, and activate it manually, if it is a valid key..

There are softrware to work around that but I wouldn't recommend it, as you still need to download MS Updates

Upon installation, you should be able to use your original License ID and password. If you cannot, you should be able to call the company and give them some information proving you bought the program. They will probably understand and give you a new license.
