Bought a used God of War III game and when I put in to play for the first time on my ps3 I got an error code #80010006. Never happened before and don't know what to do. Any help appreciated.

If you replaced the bd drive, this code means there is a problem accessing a file, that a file may be corrupted, and that in-order to resolve any corrupt files, you will need to go into recovery mode on ps3, and select restore file system, and that should fix that error.
Holding power on ps3 until it shuts off, then holding power button until there is three beeps and let go will put you in recovery mode, make sure to have your controller hooked to your ps3 with a cord!

Try getting a different copy of the game. I have had a few that would not work on my system, then I traded them in for a different copy of the same game and it worked perfectly. Not sure why it happens but it does. Hope this helps

So I have bought another copy of Rage for ps3 and it is freezing when I try to play just like the first copy. I don't understand this at all. I have tried every suggestion people have made. It is only this game that I have this problem with.

You have to Update your Ps3 Firmware to fix GTA4 online bugs..

even if you play gta4 offline, the game bugs wont stop..

You have to Update your Ps3 with the latest Firmware from sony!

You may have it set to turn off after it has not been used for a certain time if it is turning off when you are not actually using it. The auto turn off is part of the settings menu and there is also an auto off for the controllers that will stop you from running the batteries down on the controllers when the system is turned off. If it is turning off randomly while you are playing you can try ask the question at the Playstation Support Network and find out whether it has happened to others. It could be an overheating, power off for protection from fire, system directed shut down If not try running it by itself off via the wall. So don't use your your powerboard rather run it direct from it's own socket. I had a similar issue where the powerboard was at fault.

Also keep any electronics away from it mainly our iphones, and since doing that I have not had any random shutdowns

This is actually overheating on the board - the choices you have to fix it are to send it in or you can fix it with a good guide at home.

the problem with god of war 2 is the ps2 lasers are not capable of reading the dual layer disks. either wait and get a ps3, change the laser - i just bought on for 3 quid on e bay brand new. the lasers are not designed to be played the amount they are played. the laser is designed to play 20 hours a week but as sony found out he avg gamer will clock up up tp 60 hours a week so the lasers are only lasting 1/3rd of the time they should. plus if they put a good laser in the machine u would one buy 1 ps2 and then 1 ps3. i have burned out 3 ps2's so far lol. just forget the game or wait till its put on platinum as these are single layerd disk
