Check for a stuck button. Check for a loose part. I'm thinking button as it occurred when you were physically turning the head phones off. But that is just my guess. Here is their customer care contact:

Tap or push the red steam vent valve down.

You can order the button side of the seat belt from the dealer so the belt color will match.

It would help, if you posted the model number of your system, as they do vary sightly. Is there a disk inside they system? This could be the main problem in witch there are several solutions to remove it. If not, than try inserting a disk, as the PS3 auto recognizes a disk being inserted and turns on the system. If the light is on, and it wont let you power it on, then generally it's the stuck disk problem. ^^ Hope this helps, and good luck.

sometimes the green center gets stuck underneath, tip the toy over and remove the seat by unscrewing the red seat knobs this will allow you to see where the red pull lever releases. check here to see if its getting stuck

If the red button still pops out, but the button inside is stuck, you could give the red button a few solid taps with the tip of a finger. If it's the red button that's stuck and won't pop out, take a piece of tape, stick it to the button, then pull the tape off in a fast motion.

It's seems you had a stuck pixal... Turn your monitor off and try this tips: Wn't work in every case. It may take a few attempts to make sure you are pressing exactly on the dead pixel.These instructions will fix "stuck" pixels, not "dead" ones, like red, blue or green. An alternative, but similar technique involves gently massaging the stuck pixel with a warm damp soft cloth.Alternative technique to tapping: Using a rounded pencil eraser, push with moderate pressure into screen at stuck pixel.
