I forgot to write down the color connections. my options are L 1 2 3 my wire colors are, blacr, purple, yellow, blue. which goes where?

One line on the fan goes to the house common and should be white. this one is separate from the new switch. The other 3 lines on the fan are the 3 speeds. "L" is for the hot line coming into the fan and should be BLACK or RED. It should also be in the same box connector as the white above.
1,2 and 3 are the 3 fan speeds and tie to the 3 leads on the fan.
Try 1=purple 2= blue 3=yellow
You may need to move them after testing but darkest to lightest is usually the 1,2,3 order. Please let me know how much this has helped. Thank you!

I shut it off one night and won't start next day. Nothing, like a battery dead but that wasn't the problem. A guy said something EEC relay? I called part store, they said no such thing. Another guy said...

A neutral safety switch could very possibly be the problem. It could also be as simple as the gear shift linkage. Over time, the gear shift will develop some "play" and eventually won't line up with P,R,N,D,1,2 . To test this, hold the gear shift all the way to the left when trying to start the car. If it starts then you've identified the problem and need the linkage adjusted. If not, investigating the neutral safety switch would be a good idea.
