Hi,
For some reason our DCR DVD301 camera is recording with very low volume both on the camera and when watching the finalized product on the TV. The volume control is turned up so not sure what is wrong? Is there a master camera volume in the menu that was turned down by accident? Could the microphone be muffled by dirt?
thanks!

Please finalize mini dvd disc if its full or when recording is finished. Without finalization dvd will not be playback anywhere except camera. DVD Finalize option is available in camcorder Menu.
I do have the same problem. It all started when I started using Sony discs that has a label to write on one surface. Don't know how to fix it. It is now almost useless!

Yapp!! Playing the disc using your camera and records the output into another media is the best way to transfer your disc data. Computer nowaday has built in digital capture card, you can record your movie through firewire or IEEE1394 connection(unit always comes with these cables). You can even edit youyr movie, I suggest you learn adobe premiere softwares. Norton is only better when your disc is unreadable or corrupted( thats why he called it data recovery) [:0)
Use disc file recovery software such as norton' disc file recovery. Unreadable or corrupted disc files can be recovered using these programs in your computer.
