The USB device may be converting the footage to a very compressed codec.
Computer playback is not intended for interlaced footage as the camera produces so this may impact on the viewing.
Converting Compact VHS is best done with an Analogue to Digital Converter over a firewire connection rather than a USB device if you wish to edit in Movie Maker.

INEED TO DOWNLOAD SOFTWARE TO CONNECT CAMCORDER TO MY PC TO CONVERT VEDIO TAPE RECORDED

To transfer video from this camcorder to a PC, you need a 1394 cable (also called a "Firewire" cable, and your PC must have a 1394/Firewire connector as well. You can use Movie Maker (which comes with Windows) as the capture software, or you can download Scenalyzer (shareware), Studio (from Pinnacle), or Vegas Movie Studio to do the capture.

JVC GR-DX 35 AH how to import vedeo to pc

If you have a FireWire, connect it to the port for the FireWire (with a port for USB Mini-pin beside it). It is hidden under a plastic clip cover on your right on its side, if you are facing it. If you are using Windows XP, it should automatically launch Windows Movie Maker. From there you can upload it to your computer as an AVI file uncompressed. For 1 hour video tape, it will take-up about 12GB of harddisk space. You can compress it later, probably Pinnacle Studio 12, if you have one.

I want to get the video on my JVC GR-AXM17U VHS-C Camcorder to my computer. What do I need to make this happen

Software, Cables. Thats about it. There are a couple of ways to do it. If your JVC has a USB port & cable then using the software that came with the camera, OR downloaded from the manufacturers web site, install that, THEN connect the camera up, most likely it will show up as a "Drive" then you should be able to simply Copy & Paste your files as normal. Then once on PC you can manipulate them however you want. IF you have Composite Video & Audio OUT on JVC, and you have some method of getting Video & Audio INTO your PC, then you can also use this, Plug it all in, start your "Recording" software, then Press Play on JVC, You can get USB Video input dongles, 7 or, some video cards allow Video IN too.

JVC Camcorder GR-D33U

try this steps
  • first install the driver camed with your camcorder to your pc. this should recognize your computer after the installation.
  • use USB cable to connect your camcorder to your pc.
  • as far as i know jvc is using a software name ulead (because i also have a camcorder and its software is ulead)
  • Try to use Ulead Movie producer, Windows Movie maker or any other software that accepts uploading dv video.(i prefer to use ULEAD movie producer or any Ulead products its easy to use)
  • After uploading it from the ULEAD and editing, save it with any various types of videos you like. (in your case save it in DVD format so that it will easy for you to burn it.)
  • Use NERO after searching the save video file and Burn it in DVD type
I hope you understand my procedures and steps on how to transfer it. if you have further questions just contact me. hope that helps!

JVC GR-D270u Digital Video Camera

Here is the issue. Connecting this camera to your PC via USB will only allow you to download the pictures that you have stored on the camera's SD card. To download video to your PC you will need to use a firewire to 4-pin DV cable. If you do not have the software from JVC, no worries as Movie Maker on Windows XP will import video from devices for you. Movie Maker in Vista will not allow importing video or capturing from devices at all, so you will need to get the JVC software if you are oin Vista.
