I have the Visys 2 Line pictured at the top of Fixya.com. It has a corded handset and I can't locate model number. I am trying to set up voice mail greeting and am having no success.?.

Call your phone number off of your phone and it will take you throw the steps to set up your voice mail.

How do I retrieve voicemail messages on this system?

Try adding your voice mail access number into the directory of the KX TG2770. You will need to enter the number separately for the base and the handset or copy it from the base to the handset. On the base, press Conf/Edit. Then navigate (up/down arrows) to Save Directory. Once in this submenu, you'll be able to add a name and phone number.

Then to call the access number, go to the directory list and locate the name/number and call it.

(Other phones have a voice mail waiting icon and let you program that number outside of the directory. These also check if you have voice mail waiting for the line that they are connected to. This phone doesn't seem to have that ability.)

To enable your Answering System, press and hold the "ans sys" button for 2 seconds.
The "ans sys" button indicator will flash.

To disable your Answering System, press and hold the same button for 2 seconds.
The "ans sys" button indicator will go off.

And you won't. The model you listed is just a phone, it is not an answering machine. You either have voice mail as part of your phone service, or you have another RCA system phone that is acting as the voice mail machine.

To turn off voice mail please dial ##002#, this would do the trick.

Sounds like your picking up the handset then pressing the voice mail key, thereby transferring the line to voice mail when you hang up. try pressing the voice mail key before you pick up the hand set.

well 2 things, do you have voice mail and is it on the lines the phone is connected to??
