I have the GE corded/cordless phone system model 25983. Whenever someone calls and leaves a voicemail, the speaker button flashes instead of the mailbox, and it will not let me listen to the voicemail. I didn't have this problem when I got the phone. Just wondering what that might be.

The mailboxes don't need to have saved messages, to be full. More then likely what is happening is that when people call in, they are getting a generic/Auto Attendant vm box, and that one is full. Try checking vm box #100, or #10. That is the Nortel standard general delivery vm box. Please let me know is this helps, or if you more help.

Probably not, but the voice mail extension is still a dialable number. Try 500 or 165 or asking whoever installed it what the extension is.

It will prompt you the same as if you had pressed the MESSAGE button, only there will not be any new messages. You just have to play the OLD messages and you'll hear them.
